Drove by it Friday afternoon, was shocked to see it closed. Sign gone, building empty. I used to go in there if I needed something. Anyone know what happened? I know Advance Auto parts is across the street, and Auto Zone is near MacArthur on 39th, so is it possible competition killed them, or was it something else? Anyone know anything?

That was my go to auto parts store since I live about 1/4 mile away. I hate Advance and Autozone.

It's still owned by O'Reilly.

No new permits for that site.

The building is gone now as well as of 8/30/2022.

8/31/22 Drove by it, building is gone, but the big marquee sign is still up announcing a remodeling to be done. I'm a little shocked at first sight, but considering the small size of the store, it makes sense. That was a small space for an auto parts store, so I'll b glad to see it when it's done. Speaking of locations which are closed, I posted about a mexican restaurant in the Restaurant & Bars forum.

Yep, just drove by too. Backhoe demoing the building. Just a pile of rubble. I think that might have been one of the first Oreillys opened when they came to OKC.

I drove by last night and saw that O'Reilly had been completely demolished and it's now just a pile of dirt. Any word on the plans for this corner?

It's on their pole sign that a new building is coming soon and to use the store on May Ave until then. Pete, still no building permits?

See below. The reason I didn't see this before is because they filed it way back in 2019.

Looks like they've been planning it for a while then. I hate losing the door on the front east end of the building where I could just walk in and dump my used oil. Maybe they will put their oil dump container by that Dealer Door.

I could be wrong here, but it seems to me that the size of the building may? not be any larger (or much larger) than it was, but it will be moved into the far corner of the property. We will see.

They poured the slab for the new building today.

It is approximately 2,000 s.f. larger than the old building. This *was* my go to store for parts since I usually have to go down to the depot for my weird Euro Parts anyways. I prefer the staff at the 40th and May store however.
