This Valero/McDonald's started remodeling around the same time the one at 39th & Portland did, but since then there has been no movement. The gas station part is gone, but the building is just sitting there, with all the windows and doors boarded up. Anyone know what the situation is?

Interestingly, the property is owned by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

I suspect they have been engaged in a ground lease to McDonald's.

There haven't been any new permits of any kind for this site, so I suspect the lease ended and McDonald's decided not to continue.

Just a bit of insider knowledge, McDonald's always fights over their land agreements, including always trying to obtain mineral rights, which in the state of OK is almost impossible to acquire. My mother works in commercial title insurance and McDonald's are always coming up with something to fight back on.
