Their website says European, the press release says Asian. Its an Asian Menu - will have Lunch and Dinner service. I can't really put out menu details but looking through what I've seen I think it will have a lot of unique and creative options, and there are dishes at all price points. Bar service should be a great experience with a good cocktail menu, long bar top with some soft seating behind it. Honestly the space is beautiful.. They have some loose ends to tie up and I'm rooting them on. Noone on here, or really even me knows all the things going on behind the scenes of a project like this - but I can say they've created some solid relationships with local stakeholders and care about fitting into the OKC community. fromdust 07-23-2023, 04:26 PM Opening Aug 9. https://www.instagram.com/jkbychefking/ 18162 18163 SEMIweather 07-24-2023, 08:56 AM That interior is...something. sooner88 07-24-2023, 09:10 AM That interior is...something. Enjoy your 15 minutes of fame or infamy or something . Speaking of Sauced, their pizza sucks now. Crust is nowhere close to being the best (or close to) in OKC like it used to be, it's thin and a pale shadow of Empire's crust (which isn't that great). Had the honey buratta, tastes like chicken and one other one that was so unimpressive I can't remember it. Toppings weren't tasty, they were just there, nowhere close to what it used to be like. Wife had a hard time finishing the bones (and that *never* happens, even on frozen pizzas). Best part of the meal was the Coors Banquet on tap. I'm sure they'll do quite well, but we're never going to darken their doorstep again... Pete 07-27-2023, 11:25 AM Speaking of Sauced, their pizza sucks now. Also, I wouldn't be sure that Sauced is doing so well. I take evening walks through the Paseo a few times per week and the patio certainly isn't as busy as it was in past summers. This is even more pronounced given that the district as a whole is way more active than it was pre-COVID. Back on topic...the fact that this place has such an informative website up and running before opening does make me feel better that the operators know what they are doing, despite some of the other misgivings I have. Prices look very reasonable as well for the dining experience that they're offering, so I'll at least give it a chance and maybe I'll like the interior more in person. :) PhiAlpha 07-27-2023, 01:46 PM big surprise. lolol TheTravellers 07-27-2023, 02:06 PM Also, I wouldn't be sure that Sauced is doing so well. Mr. Blue Sky 07-27-2023, 11:06 PM One more thing about Sauced…it’s like walking into a 1985 Pizza Hut. Which I mean as a compliment, it’s a great time warp. I almost felt the pull to head up to Northpark Mall to catch ‘Back To The Future’, ‘The Breakfast Club’ or some other great movie from ‘85. Almost. soonerguru 07-27-2023, 11:55 PM Have you eaten there before and after, and if so, how do *you* think they compare? I admire the work they did to the interior but the food isn't as good. It's unfortunate. OkieBerto 07-31-2023, 10:21 AM I came here to read about the new spot and all I see is Sauced stuff. OkieBerto 08-09-2023, 01:59 PM They did a really good job of reaching out to some of the local foodie social media people. Those people did a great job showing off the food and letting everyone get to see the interior from a different perspective. If they can keep up this pace, it will for sure become a place to be. Reminds me of a nightclub in Berlin, Amsterdam, Budapest, Prague, one of those cities but without the clubbing. There are a few in OKC that have been open for quite a while and are slightly higher at 4.9. 4.6 now. Small sample size still though. My personal experience is good restaurants on OT run in the 4.5-4.6 range. Very good restaurants at 4.7-4.8 range and the very best will be 4.9. OKC has quite a few that hit a 4.8 or higher now, it's really difficult to maintain over a long period. Dob Hooligan 08-12-2023, 05:45 PM Rich buddy of mine went last night. She was not impressed. I'll be the odd man out. We have been twice now. Last night and about a month ago. We went again to give it another try as we didn't see the hype after the first trip. The decor and vibe are very cool. Drinks were very good. The expresso martini especially. Service was very pleasant but untrained. One of our appetizers came out first and before it could even cooled enough to eat it, we had our main dishes and then the other two appetizers came out after our main courses. All of this was within 5-8 minutes. The crispy rice, pork belly and the chicken and truffle dumplings were very good and would recommend. We also had lamb chops, chicken wings, lobster and shrimp Shumai and Yaki Soba Chicken. The lobster and shrimp Shumai was the only thing none of the three of us cared for. It had a weird flavor that we couldn't identify and threw off the balance. The rest of the dishes were "okay". They didn't taste bad but had no real flavor and certainly not any complexity of flavors like you would expect from the caliber they are projecting and charging for. The yaki sobe noodles had no flavor at all. There certainly isn't any wow factor to most of what we had. The meal for the three of us (which included 5 drinks) was $275. At this point, it will not be in our rotation for anything other than drinks and maybe the chicken and truffle dumplings. We will give it one more try in another month as my daughter wants to try it when home from college. Apparently it has become a place for selfies due to the decor. OKCRealtor 10-04-2023, 08:11 AM They have very mixed reviews on Opentable. I personally won't be checking it out unless things improve. I could care less about going somewhere just for the ambiance or an insta/FB photo. Jake 10-04-2023, 08:14 AM Went expecting to not really like it but my fiance and I really enjoyed it. Guess we got lucky and went on a good day. king183 10-04-2023, 12:41 PM I went with my wife a couple weeks ago and was genuinely shocked at how bad the food was. I do not believe this place will survive more than 6 months unless they make significant changes to the quality of their food. I got the pad thai and it was slightly worse than what I would get if I went to Cheesecake Factory and got their pad thai. You can get far better for half the price at a dozen spots in OKC. I can’t remember what my wife got, but she refused to finish it. Perhaps we got unlucky with our experience, but I doubt it given other reviews I’ve seen and friends who have gone and had the exact same experience. I have heard from others that I trust their food opinions that had good experiences. I may have gone on a bit of an off night. I will revisit but it isn't something I would frequent more than once or twice a year. Teo9969 10-04-2023, 10:26 PM Went and enjoyed it immensely - we engaged it mainly as a family style dinner. It's a bit expensive for what you get, but is accessible at the creativity level. Highlights were: Porn Star Martini - great cocktail on the sweeter side. Sunset in Saigon - the presentation is just so nice and it's also a relatively good cocktail Brussel Sprouts - probably the best I've ever had Oxtail and Bone Marrow Fried Rice - probably the best rice I've ever eaten. The seasoning was perfection. We tried a lot of other stuff and nothing was outright bad, but not everything was knock your socks off either. I think this place would be a great happy hour rotation, because it feels more like high end tapas than a traditional dinner environment. ManAboutTown 06-20-2024, 07:58 AM I finally tried this place on Monday. It was okay, but nothing spectacular. We shared the hummus and a seaweed salad for appetizers. Both were really good, and I had high hopes for my entree. However, the Pad Thai was below average. I like to cook at home and truly believe that I could have made better Pad Thai at home than what I was served. It was a soggy, sorry mess. Cocktails, apps, and an entree and my check was almost $100. I won't be going back anytime soon. The space itself is pretty festive. The |
