There's dirt work going on in front of the Homeland at Reno/Mustang. Anyone know what's going in there?

It’s going to be a new Waffle House (dirtwork in front of Homeland) and yes, Homeland’s building is for sale.

Is the Waffle House on Garth Brooks closing or staying open?

Given the number of chains that have locations in both areas, probably staying open

Verified that the Homeland is closing in May.

Seems like this is good news. This location looks the exact same as when I grew up in the 90's. Seems like Homeland probably wanted to funnel the premium business to their NW 10th store to compete with Crest. The population here is exploding, so I can't imagine it staying vacant for very long. Any semi-competent grocer could make that location super profitable.

Though with the growth in the area between Mustang and Yukon, it is a little surprise they kept it open this long but are closing it before there is a replacement built probably either further south along the turnpike or on east side of Mustang. Both this and the 10th street location were part of acquiring other chains, and likely would not have been built so close together if was part of a coherent strategy. Though given the few times I have been in this one it seemed like it was already overdue for a renovation, it is not a huge shock they might have already planned to get rid of it in the not too distant future.
