Dirt is being moved on 104th next to the Autumn Leaves Assisted Living. Any idea what is going in here? On the city website it just listed a commercial building.

Pete 02-14-2022, 10:32 AM Harvest Church; currently located at 4019 S. Martin 02-14-2022, 10:56 AM that's interesting... the assessor's site still has the property under the sheaffer's trust. the church that is moving to this property is (i think) still tied to the sheaffer family. in the late 70's or very early 80's, the group that met in the building near sw 36th & penn moved to se 89th and shields to form 'crossroads cathedral.' sheaffer headed up that church until the mid 2000's until there was some sort of disagreement/scandal that pushed him out. i think he went back to that location on south penn the last few years of his life. so... it's interesting that this group is building a new facility on this site. i'm guessing that the estate couldn't sell it and so they decided to donate it. I wonder why they wouldn't have been able to sell it. I would think 104th would be a desirable area. Asking too much, perhaps? AMinEdmond 02-14-2022, 02:24 PM Harvest Church is pastored by Mike Shaeffer who is Dan Shaeffer's son. btmec 02-17-2022, 12:40 AM Harvest Church is pastored by Mike Shaeffer who is Dan Shaeffer's son. Did he have more than one son? I went to school with a son who was allegedly having trouble with self-medicating only a few years ago. His dad suposedly tried to get him to become a real estate developer and he developed the estate to the west (St. something). He was a shuttle bus driver and lost all of the money his parents left to him. This is speculation AMinEdmond 02-17-2022, 09:56 AM Did he have more than one son?
