View Full Version : The Crown (formerly Pachinko NH)
sooner88 02-01-2022, 08:32 AM I haven't seen this posted here, but it looks like Pachinko is opening a new brick and mortar on Western near Nichols Hills. We've had Sushi Goose's sushi a few times, and it was really good... excited for this to open.

They are taking the old Subway space:

Roger S 02-01-2022, 08:56 AM So is this the same as Pachinko Parlor that was on 9th Street for a few years?
Definitely wasn't anything near traditional sushi but they had a Philly Cheesesteak roll that was phenomenal.
^
Yes, and they currently have a kitchen at Parlor.
john60 02-01-2022, 10:57 AM Hopefully there is room for both this and Tokyo Sushi a few blocks north. I've always really enjoyed my interactions with employees/management/ownership at Tokyo.

Any idea when the new location will open?
Any idea when the new location will open?
I've been watching their social media and they are getting close, but thus far no announced date.
Now open at 7204 N. Western, Pachinko serves “creative variations on Pacific Rim cuisine with a Peruvian twist, sushi, sashimi and more”.

FighttheGoodFight 08-03-2022, 10:46 AM Looks interesting. Adding it to the list for a date night
Bowser214 08-03-2022, 04:56 PM A++ on the interior design!
It's a really cool vibe.
It's a little more upscale and inventive than even most of our sit-down sushi places and I think it's a great fit for the area.
Libbymin 08-04-2022, 12:24 PM Glad to see stuff popping up on that stretch of Western in recent months. Seems like they'd lost quite a few big spots in recent years (West, Panera, Hideaway).
ChaseDweller 08-04-2022, 04:02 PM If these are the Pachinko Parlor guys, that is quality Sushi. Sometimes a bit weird, but always good.
Thomas Vu 08-04-2022, 11:37 PM Good on them if they are indeed the same parlor peopel and made it out.

It is the same guys, as Pete previously confirmed in this thread, plus one other guy I can't remember off the top of my head (he's someone well known on Instagram for his sushi creations). Earlier this year, I ate at The Crown Room in VZD's (if you haven't been, go. it's reservation only) and Chef Eric gave us the rundown and history of this concept coming together. It was very interesting and he's got quite the background. I believe they intend to keep the Parlor location open. The Parlor location, by the way, is their second iteration of Pachinko, which I believe was originally on 9th Street.

Sushi Goose was the other guy. Is he still involved? Or did he just consult on the menu?

Eric Smith told me when I went out to photograph the space that "Sushi Goose" was involved initially but that is no longer the case.
This is more about Sushi Goose; his real name is Gustavo Chang Risi: https://sushigoose.party/about

Yes... Where Nashbird is now.

We've used him a handful of times, and highly recommend it for something different.
Pachinko had rebranded as The Crown and has added some menu items:

king183 02-20-2024, 03:04 PM Interesting move. I assume the name is based on The Crown Room that has been located inside Pachinko and was previously a separate business inside VZD’s. I’m a big fan of this place—both drinks and food are very good—so hopefully quality doesn’t change with the name.
