View Full Version : Salad and Go HOT ROD 11-17-2022, 04:56 PM good report out Pete. and yes I hope OKC patronizes, this is awesome!!! and affordable!! Edmond Hausfrau 11-17-2022, 06:11 PM Organic tofu for under five bucks should give Whole Foods a run for their money. OKCRealtor 12-05-2022, 12:34 PM I grabbed a Cobb Salad at the SW 104th location today and am very pleased. High quality lettuce and greens. For under $7 bucks it's as good as most restaurants charging double or more and the quality of the lettuce is better than a lot of places. Thomas Vu 12-06-2022, 12:07 AM I've been a few times, and today I saw at ~130 on penn and 23rd that the line was almost to the street. Things I've noted 1. No iceberg lettuce 2. The soup isn't overly salty 3. The drinks aren't overly sweet. I expect to frequent there a lot. Pete 12-06-2022, 07:44 AM ^ When the line is long, you can order on their app, park, and walk up to the window. dheinz44 12-06-2022, 11:30 AM The autumn salad is delicious. I will probably end up going here at least once a week. CCOKC 12-06-2022, 07:14 PM I got the autumn salad with tofu last week and could not eat the whole thing in one sitting. I finished it off as a side salad to my dinner. BridgeBurner 12-07-2022, 09:02 AM Tried it last night for the first time and was a huge fan, if they keep those prices and that quality I will go there often OkieBerto 12-07-2022, 10:53 AM Been for Breakfast and Lunch. Shocked at how affordable this place is and the food is pretty darn good. The Mango Green Tea is great, but the Cold Brew is lacking flavor and a kick. I will be going here at least once a week. baralheia 12-07-2022, 11:19 AM Stopped by the location on 23rd last night for a cobb salad to split with the hubby as a side salad for dinner, and I was very impressed. All of the ingredients seemed to be of very high quality and the portion size was plentiful. Got a pink lemonade with it too, and wow. Theirs is on the tart side, and despite usually preferring my lemonades to be a little bit sweeter, I thought it was extremely tasty. Prices were very appropriate for the amount of food. I'll definitely be back, and I want to try their breakfast too! Pete 12-07-2022, 11:34 AM ^ If you like sweeter, try the Strawberry Lemonade. I thought it was fantastic. The Del City location opens 12/13 NW 164th & Western opens 12/20 Plutonic Panda 12-07-2022, 12:55 PM Stopped by the location on 23rd last night for a cobb salad to split with the hubby as a side salad for dinner, and I was very impressed. Plutonic Panda 12-07-2022, 02:02 PM I should also add I think Salata was much better. S&G was good and I’ll certainly eat there off and on but Salata was far superior. baralheia 12-07-2022, 02:36 PM I too ordered a Cobb salad expecting eggs as shown in the picture but I received no eggs. Is that only given during breakfast? I got mine at 7:30pm and it had the sliced hard-boiled egg. I think they may have just accidentally forgotten it in your order. We both are also very happy and will be going back. This place should be a hit for healthy fast food. Thomas Vu 12-07-2022, 11:02 PM I should also add I think Salata was much better. S&G was good and I’ll certainly eat there off and on but Salata was far superior. Agreed, but take what we can get. Higher customization, and oddly enough got more salad, if that's even possible. bucktalk 12-08-2022, 10:18 AM Tried it out, first time, this week. Very impressed with the quality and price. Will be a reoccurring customer for sure. progressiveboy 12-08-2022, 09:35 PM I should also add I think Salata was much better. S&G was good and I’ll certainly eat there off and on but Salata was far superior. I enjoy Salata too! They are popular in the DFW area and keep expanding! Great quality too! Never understood why the Salata's closed in OKC??? Anonymous. 12-13-2022, 10:18 AM I tried this out because of the reviews here. And I echo everything so far. It was fresh, plentiful, cheap, and fast! I had the buffalo chicken salad with half the dressing. If I had to choose something to complain about, it would be the dressing was difficult to open since they placed it inside the container where it got wet. Also the large plastic containers seem a bit overkill, but I understand that it is for shaking and mixing up the ingredients. Pete 12-13-2022, 10:19 AM They open in Del City today. Edmond location opens 12/20. jarrington00 12-14-2022, 08:55 AM Also the Salad and Go app is awesome, order ahead and just walk up to the window to pick up. So easy and love this well executed concept. roci28 12-14-2022, 10:28 AM They open in Del City today. Edmond location opens 12/20. Pete do you know if they are planning a Yukon location? Pete 12-14-2022, 10:29 AM Pete do you know if they are planning a Yukon location? I haven't seen anything. Yukon and Norman seem like logical spots. Libbymin 12-14-2022, 11:27 AM We made pasta at home the other night and grabbed a chicken caesar from there to go with it. For about $7, it ended up being plenty of salad for two people and tasty too. I will definitely go back. Pete 12-14-2022, 12:24 PM That frozen strawberry lemonade for $1.35 (incl tax) may be my favorite new thing. As I mentioned before, they use real strawberries and it's a large cup. Unbelievable bargain. Outhunder 12-20-2022, 04:23 PM The traditional breakfast burrito is so hard to beat. $3.50 tax included is such a deal. Surprised people don’t understand this concept still. A large portion of Edmond addresses that are west of Santa Fe are okc city limits with Edmond address I completely understand as I have seen this clarification on this forum many times. The intent of my original post was to communicate what Pete referred to as the “Edmond” location that was to open on 12/20 was not open yet, not get into an argument of what is Edmond and what isn’t. Unless you are aware of another Salad and Go in Edmond city limits? foodiefan 12-30-2022, 08:57 AM I completely understand as I have seen this clarification on this forum many times. OKCRealtor 12-30-2022, 09:02 AM +1 on that area being considered Edmond, it's hilarious some of the old school Edmond folks like to hate on anything west or OKC limits. I'm in 'fake edmond' myself. We like to live up to our stereotypes  Jersey Boss 12-30-2022, 10:10 AM ^ Agreed. Common usage is really the deciding factor when refrencing locale, not the tax assessor Richard at Remax 12-30-2022, 10:46 AM Also live in fake Edmond at 150th and Western. This location is in Edmond, I don't care about the technicalities lol But...Technically, legally, actually, and in reality you live in Oklahoma City. Your trash can is blue. Your city water services are Oklahoma City. Your fire and police protection come from OKC. David Holt is your Mayor. Nikki Nice or Mark Stonecipher represent your ward in city council. This Salad and Go, along with the 7-11, Firestone, and WalMart Market all on this corner at 164th and Western, help OKC Sales Tax Revenue. Your "home" post office that delivers mail, is in Edmond at 33rd and Kelly, everything else is OKC. The amount of new development occurring in "Pretend Edmond" is greatly benefitting OKC. scottk 12-30-2022, 01:14 PM Also live in fake Edmond at 150th and Western. Your "home" post office that delivers mail, is in Edmond at 33rd and Kelly, if you have children, they most likely would attend Edmond Public Schools, which outside of Santa Fe high school, based upon your general location, all physical school buildings are located in OKC city limits. The amount of new development occurring in "Pretend Edmond" is greatly benefitting NW OKC. I can see how being a realtor, it would be appealing to classify homes in this area as "Edmond" since OKC covers so many square miles. I've posted this before, but FOX25 really did a good job in laying it all out, and why it is important to claim OKC as where you live: https://okcfox.com/news/local/where-do-you-live-for-many-the-answer-is-complicated TheTravellers 01-01-2023, 08:46 PM Was checking out their menu and noticed that their chicken and tofu are tossed in a chili-ginger marinade. Seems like that marinade might not go with some of the salads - does it work on them? Anybody know if you can get the chicken or tofu plain if it doesn't work? LocoAko 01-01-2023, 09:44 PM Was checking out their menu and noticed that their chicken and tofu are tossed in a chili-ginger marinade. Seems like that marinade might not go with some of the salads - does it work on them? Anybody know if you can get the chicken or tofu plain if it doesn't work? I've had the tofu with the BBQ ranch and the Thai salad and thought it went well with both. To be honest I didn't know there was even a marinade. The tofu is quite good, but IMO the marinade is just enough to get rid of the bland "soy" flavor but doesn't overwhelm the other flavors in the salad. I'm quite impressed with it as someone who has struggled to make my own tofu taste good, lol. Boop 01-08-2023, 10:58 AM I went to Salad N Go last night and my father got the wrap and I got the pink lemonade when it is supposed to be frozen strawberry lemonade but the pink lemonade was terrible and my father did not like the wrap and I went back this morning and got the frozen strawberry lemonade and it is very good! cappa 01-09-2023, 07:26 AM The Edmond/OKC location is now open ;) Elrenogolf 01-29-2023, 11:19 AM The Edmond location has a mobile order pickup window separate from the regular drive thru. Makes it much faster as this location has been very busy the couple times we have gone. It is also much easier to customize your order in the mobile app. scottk 01-29-2023, 11:25 AM The Edmond location has a mobile order pickup window separate from the regular drive thru. Makes it much faster as this location has been very busy the couple times we have gone. It is also much easier to customize your order in the mobile app. I drove by the Western/164th location on Friday evening. It had four cars queued in the drive-thru. The mobile pick-up window is a great idea. Everyone I know who has tried Salad and Go has said their meal was fresh and a good value. Given the small footprint of the stores, maybe they would expand like Scooter's has across the metro. jennbrow 01-29-2023, 03:58 PM Our family loves it! Get the Greek salad and cucumber mint lemonade at least twice a week. Hope a location is built further west in Deer Creek area. barrettd 01-29-2023, 07:52 PM I went to the 164th location a few weeks ago and was shocked at the size of the salad, and the quality, for the price. It's not yet near enough for me to go a few times a week, but I hope they continue to build new locations closer to me. I would love to have this as an option to have multiple times a week. jompster 01-29-2023, 08:14 PM I've been eating their salads 3 times a week and don't feel bad about it. Definitely value enough to do it, enjoy it, and not feel bad about it later. MagzOK 01-29-2023, 09:12 PM ^^ Same. It's such a great value and best of all, the food is super good and overall healthy. OKC Guide 01-30-2023, 01:50 AM We've been a couple of times and have loved everything we've had. As others have said, quality food for a good price. We've decided we might quit stopping at the store for salad stuff for homemade dinners and just pick up one of these to split. MartzMimic 02-02-2023, 09:23 AM I am just wearing this place out. I like something on the lighter side for lunch, and this fits the bill at a really reasonable price. Where else are you going to get a pretty good sized salad for $6.24? I generally get the Cobb salad and everything has always been very fresh. The Thai salad was good, but I tend to prefer a little sweeter dressing. One of my friends said he and his wife don’t think they’ll be able to make a go of it. I’m single-handedly trying to prove them wrong. Pete 02-02-2023, 09:36 AM ^ They are doing very well and their business will only improve in the warmer months. I'm a big fan as well. High quality food at more than reasonable prices. bucktalk 02-02-2023, 10:00 AM I have been to the Penn/23rd location approximately 15 times -each time the salad is very, very fresh and the workers have been exceptional with warm, welcoming attitudes. MagzOK 02-02-2023, 10:24 AM I'm ready for them to start on the Edmond location at 2nd and Kelley, but there hasn't been anything happening there yet. Wild 02-02-2023, 12:39 PM I'm ready for them to start on the Edmond location at 2nd and Kelley, but there hasn't been anything happening there yet.
