TheTravellers 01-29-2022, 06:24 PM Tearing down a really nice building for a gas station
That will probably generate many times over the revenue (in taxes) that the current building does and Dodson can just rebuild that same exact building anywhere else.
Plutonic Panda 01-31-2022, 07:54 PM Moore QT update:
“ QuikTrip
It’s looking more likely that The City of Moore will be getting a QuikTrip south of NW 27th street and just west of I-35.
But, first, significant infrastructure changes will be required by the City to relieve existing traffic issues in the area and provide enough roadway for large trucks to safely enter and exit the truck stop.”

Was this building even in use? Is Dodson even building houses anymore. Their website and social media doesn’t seem to exist amymore

QT just filed for their building permit application for the location at Hefner and I-35.
Work should be starting soon.
Elrenogolf 04-12-2022, 04:30 PM Does the permit include demolishing that home builder’s showroom?
Does the permit include demolishing that home builder’s showroom?
Not specifically under this permit.
I'm sure a demo permit will be filed while they wait for the building permit to be approved; that usually takes a few months where you can get a demo permit the same day.

The QTs I have been to in the last few months have had the top tier logo covered up. Not sure what is up with that. But it’s covered up with black tape.
I wonder with higher prices they have cut back on something

This was on the TopTier website a few months back:
"We are navigating through unprecedented times. Disastrous weather conditions and unplanned additive production operational outages have resulted in some of our TOP TIER™ Detergent Gasoline Fuel Marketers being unable to supply gasoline with the approved detergent at the approved dosage. The TOP TIER™ program is committed to working with its participants and the industry in managing through this in the best way possible and to return to supplying gasoline fully meeting the TOP TIER requirements as soon as possible.
As this shortage is expected to last through the end of the year, you may see some gas stations noting they are unable to supply TOP TIER™ Gasoline at this time. The brand will still be listed on www.toptiergas.com as this will not apply to all stations."
As with everything else...supply chain.
publicenemy1925 05-03-2022, 07:26 AM My understanding is QT has purchased the old Pickles restaurant and all the property up to and including Brads heat and air in Moore.
Bobby821 05-03-2022, 10:40 AM Drove by on Monday and Pickles was all boarded up and shut down and so was Barnes real estate school next to it, part of the fencing was taken down in front of Barnes also.
Martin 05-03-2022, 11:04 AM i'd imagine QT bought the small car lot to the south also. i have no insider knowledge, but i'd be surprised if they bought anything further west of barnes real estate school.
T. Jamison 05-03-2022, 11:30 AM I checked the County Assessor's site. QuikTrip Corporation purchased all the way west to Brad's Heating and Air.

This is correct.
They are on record as saying all central Oklahoma locations would be travel stops, which means they have a large separate fueling area for long-haul trucks.
I would be surprised if we don't see at least a couple more locations along I-40, around Yukon and Midwest City.

Roger S 05-17-2022, 12:42 PM I noticed they had finally started moving dirt across the street for the eXpress going on the NW corner.... I think the signs that they were coming had been there for a couple of years.... I know they were there before I moved a little over a year ago.

I was just thinking that the other day.
Elrenogolf 08-06-2022, 05:18 PM Stopped at the new QT travel center in Henryetta. From what I can tell it opened about 3 months ago. Thing that stuck out to me was the front counter was way too big and it was hard to get from one side of the store to the other if there was any line at all.
Hopefully they start working on the QTs here soon.
Jeepnokc 08-14-2022, 11:46 PM I absolutely love QT in Tulsa. They have a great selection of fresh brewed flavored teas. We have stopped at the big QT in Denton across from Buccees several times now. It is one of the nastiest c=stores I have ever been to from the bathrooms to the floors to the soda machines. I hope that is not a sign of poor ability to manage their locations outside of Tulsa metro.

At Hefner & I-35, this building is abandoned and overgrown with weeds.
They submitted a demolition permit a couple of months ago but nothing has happened as of yet.

They don't seem to be in any sort of rush.
cloverstack 11-02-2022, 01:40 PM Just noticed that back in May, QuikTrip bought a former Advance Auto Parts location at 9118 NE 23rd in Midwest City. This is near Douglas Blvd and the Spencer border. Assessor link (https://docs.oklahomacounty.org/AssessorWP5/AN-R.asp?PROPERTYID=110348)
Any idea what they might end up doing with this property? I would guess it won't be a travel center (unlike the Moore and I-35/Hefner locations) because it's not near an interstate and 2.5 acres seems kind of small. Seems about the right size for a regular QT store though, although I wonder if they might have plans to put a warehouse/office there or something.

Not sure what is going on at Hefner & I-35 as the demo permit for the office building was filed some time ago but the structure is still standing.
QT clearly is not in any hurry. I suspect they are like OnCue where they have tons of new locations in the pipeline and they only work on a limited amount at one time.
foodiefan 11-06-2022, 01:37 PM . . . any clues/reasons that On Cue (NW 39th/Portland) is $.70 higher on premium no ethanol gasoline than Casey's (NW 39th/Meridian)?

Gas prices have been all over the place the last few weeks. The Casey's near us when from $2.84 to $3.04, while the OnCue a mile away remained the same price.
OnCue does use Top Tier gas, I'm not sure if Casey's does, I am assuming that cost a little more, also location, OnCue is right off of I-44, they maybe can command a higher cost for gas at that location?

Thanks!! Knew it was more expensive, but didn't realize it was that much. Guess I'd better pay the piper.
bchandler02 11-08-2022, 01:09 PM Oncue used to be reasonably competitive on gas prices prior to the run up to $5/gal gas this summer. Not the cheapest, but within the ballpark.
Since then, they've been anywhere from 20-50 cents higher on regular E10. Very disappointing

Absolutely they have been elevated and it is disappointing. That being said I do like Phillips 66 gasoline and I remember the Shell stations being even higher than OnCue when they were in abundance around and that gasoline is great, too. I've never really used gas stations that don't advertise what gas they are because you never really know the quality your'e getting and for the longest time OnCue didn't have the 66 logos on them. I think that's because I'm a product of an oil and gas family and that's all my dad ever said. Anyway, I will say that I do appreciate the constant eye-balling of the pumps by the employees there at OnCue for skimmers as I've been told they check the pumps several times per day.

Plutonic Panda 12-02-2022, 02:37 AM According to Fox 25 both proposed OKC locations(the in Moore and OKC proper) are due to open by 2024:
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — FOX 25 has gotten updates on two QuikTrip locations coming to the Oklahoma City metro.
Aisha Jefferson-Smith, QuikTrip’s corporate communications manager, said a location in Moore on the southwest corner of 27th and I-35 has a bid out for construction.
The chain hopes construction begins in late January with an opening tenatively slated for February 2024.
The planned location at I-35 and Hefner Road in Oklahoma City is expected to go out for bid in February with construction scheduled to begin in April, Jefferson-Smith said.
The location is expected to be open for business in May 2024.

Is there another gas station going in on the north side of the road?

Yes, they have a few operations in town and are quite nice, with several food operators inside.
This particular location will be a travel center as well, so there will be big competition between it and QuikTrip as well as a newly-renovated Casey's on the NE corner.

Interesting, if this were Tulsa that would be a death wish. But QT is new to most OKC folks (if theyre not from Tulsa or Dallas) and i wonder how folks will receive them.
