HOT.

From today's (9/1/21) Mesonet Ticker (http://ticker.mesonet.org):

With today possibly being the hottest day of the year for some parts of the
state, not much to look forward to until the weekend. At that point, we could
see a cool front push into the state and bring us some pretty good rain chances
after a few dances with showers possible up north tomorrow and Friday. Oh,
and maybe some cooler weather for the weekend as well!

First strong “fall” cold front looks like it will arrive around the 18th.

To me, the first strong fall cold front doesn't happen until it drops the lows to the the 40s.

Sick of this weather. This time last year, we had beautiful weather where we had a stretch of highs that ranged from the mid 50s-70s.

Anything that keeps us out of the 90+ Heat Indices will work for me.

Yes, this weather sucks, but it is an unfortunate side effect of forces set in motion decades ago that almost cannot be undone.

Cluster of severe storms currently NW of C OK. Short-range models kill them off after dark. But may have some remnants come thru OKC if the don’t hold together.

Unsettled weather still looks like it will return around the 16th-18th as tropical moisture returns from the south

Well it looks like the tropical moisture will stay to the south and southeast. The GOM hasn’t given Oklahoma any favors this year with the strong high pressure ridge pulling systems north and east. The front moving through Tuesday night could set off some storms in northern OK but moisture will be limited due to Nicholas.

Yeah.... Looking like it will leave us high and dry and may totally mess up my mountain biking/hiking trip to Chattanooga next week.

First major cold front will pass through on Tuesday/Tuesday Night, finally lowering temperatures to seasonal averages thereafter. Still not looking like much in the way of precipitation chances in the near future.

I just need summer allergy season to end as soon as possible!

Last very hot day of summer is likely today. Front swings through tonight with a slight chance for storms developing in C OK. Best chances for rain are across NE and E OK.

Temperatures looks beautiful for the week+ ahead.

Beginning to see many parts of the state slip into drought conditions.

Wait, they said today after this front temps will be back up in the low/mid 90s. Is this incorect?

OKC will be close to 100F today. That is what I consider 'very hot'. I don't think we will get near that again this year. We won't hit 90 again until maybe Saturday/Sunday.

A lucky few got rain last night mainly north-central and far NE OK. Slim chances the rest of the week. Another potential storm about a week out

Feels a bit like fall at least, finally. Good brisk north wind this morning.

Keep in mind also that although temperatures will eventually rebound into the 90’s by the end of the month, dewpoints look to stay in the 40’s and 50’s so this truly is a dry heat.

It's like there is a drought explosion in Oklahoma:

For October looks like chances are leaning toward it being warm and dry:

Increasing odds of finally getting a good rain event around the 9/29 - 10/2 time period. Best chances will probably focus over Western OK and the Panhandles, but OKC should get in on the action at some point.

Hope it happens this is the driest September I can ever remember

Continuing to look very good for multiple rounds of rainfall between Thursday and Saturday. Should hopefully be able to get a widespread 1-2” out of this system.

I swear I can see the water level difference of our pond on a daily basis. It's getting very low.

Should see best shot at some rain and storms on Thursday. Looks like cluster will evolve up across NW OK and develop S and E from there. Looks like random local heavy amounts for those lucky to be under the storms.

We received 1.5" inches in just under an hour here in Edmond, including some half inch hail. Saw radar reports of multiple inches near Piedmont. OKCFD responded to numerous lightning strikes in NW OKC.

My wife said at NE36 and Lincoln it poured for about a half hour. Cameras at the house looked like a steady light rain for most of the afternoon. That's about what it did at work by the airport too.
On the house cameras I would swear the grass already looks greener.
