IMO the building looks to be in good shape and there is already so much around that is cleared, why do this?

That’s depressing. How is there nothing in place to protect a building over a century old?!?

i would bet a lot of money that the building is basically already under contract to sell .. and the new owners wanted in demoed before closing ..

Would be nice if someone could save this building. It's in the area where historic St. John's Missionary Baptist Church use to stand. Kitty Village operates the new wing of that church thru Community Action Program before they built their new church at 5700 N. Kelley Avenue.

Go visit the area in person, you won't need to concern yourself about it being demolished, another 10 years and it will probably fall down on its own.
