CULPRITS: SPIRITS, STEAK AND SUSHI SET TO OPEN FALL 2021
From an iconic Bricktown location to a standout food and beverage menu, this modern restaurant is set to make waves as Oklahoma City s newest dining hotspot.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Provision Concepts, a restaurant management and hospitality group based in Oklahoma, is excited to announce the upcoming opening of its newest venture Culprits. Located at the bottom of the under-construction Marriott Renaissance Hotel in Bricktown, the upscale bar and restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner delivering the same sincere hospitality guests across the state have come to know and love.

Set to open this October, Culprits will bring a sleek and sophisticated feel to one of Oklahoma City's most popular districts. Culprits kitchen will provide both locals and visitors alike with a premium dining experience that includes the highest quality ingredients, as well as local and regional flavors. Guests can expect an impressive menu of fresh seafood, prime cuts of steak, handcrafted cocktails and an extensive wine list. With a lively bar scene and indulgent culinary creations in a stunning, luxury space, Culprits will be the perfect place to socialize, talk business, celebrate or simply experience the best fare and atmosphere OKC has to offer.

“We are thrilled about the upcoming opening of our newest concept Culprits”, says Jeff Dixon, Co-Founder of Provision Concepts. “The hotel that Andy (Patel) and his team are building is the perfect stage for a concept like this, which will be similar to Broadway 10 in many ways s Guests from afar staying in the new Renaissance and locals here in town will certainly enjoy the space he has been working so hard on.”

Located at the southeast corner of Sheridan and Oklahoma Avenues, The Renaissance will be Bricktown s first full-service hotel. With modern brick and bronze metal cladding, 182 rooms, ten stories and a breathtaking view of downtown Oklahoma City, the much anticipated Marriott
Renaissance project will include luxury amenities such as a concierge, room service, valet and of course, an upscale bar and restaurant.

“When we decided to install an upscale restaurant in the hotel, we knew we wanted Provision Concepts to create it”, says Andy Patel, President and CEO of Anish Hotels Group. “The company consistently creates new and innovative brands that combine incredible cuisine and genuine hospitality, and Culprits will be no different.”

How cool!!

Cool concept and needed in Bricktown, but I just don't think the name is any good. Why not find something or someone from the history of that micro area--dig a bit and get more unique with the name. Find yourself the original plat and name it after the first person who owned land or built a building on that corner--that'd be cool.

in this case, i think it was 'originally' a military camp that was set up east of the atsf tracks for the land run. i'm pretty sure that the actual subdivision name on the plat is 'military addition', getting its name from that military camp.

Ha, interesting, but maybe not a good name either! Maybe someone could find out who the ranking officer was there or something, I dunno, but I would love to be handed that assignment if I were employed by Provision Concepts and present several alternatives from which to choose.

They forgot the word "Alleged" in front of the name Culprits.

Looks great. Agree on the name. It sounds like a bar you'd find in a suburban strip mall with bagged chips and nacho cheese sauce that comes out of a pump.

Provision only hits home runs :)

A nice sushi menu (similar to Broadway 10) and a big bar area with outside seating along Sheridan.

I've seen some interior renderings for this hotel and it's going to be very pretty upscale.

Bricktown needs more nice places and fewer get-shot/stabbed $2 beer bars/clubs.

Name me one good steak place in Bricktown? You can't because one doesn't exist.

Edit. Forgot about MM. But 2 in the district is fine. Especially since it also has thr seafood and sushi element.

Seems to me that it is going to be for a fairly upscale business traveler that is staying in the hotel. Name reminds me of a Claim Jumpers or somesuch.

You're right. Good catch.

Still think having 2 options is fine. Not sure what else you want for an upscale hotel to have.

No, you are correct. It is terrible. Who is getting paid for this branding?

Excited about a full-service restaurant in a full-service hotel in Bricktown. Somewhat wary of a steak plus sushi concept, however.

Cool. I have only dined there once. I have spent some time in the before times at the bar with Urban Pioneer. Didn't remember the sushi. Culprits though? LOL Sounds like a strip bar or a place of ill repute, or perhaps someplace where you could be complicit in committing a crime or even falsely accused of one. Perhaps there's time for them to rethink this naming concept.

It's fairly common around the country, and something that I think is refreshing compared to the traditional steakhouses. I went to Ascend in Bellevue/Seattle last weekend, and if we could get anything close to that here it would be my go-to steakhouse immediately.

It was in The Raw, Dekora! (briefly) and then I believe the Sushi Bar took its place, but google shows that is permanently closed as well.

Exactly, Culprits doesn't sound upscale at all.

But anyway, love the concept and definitely needed for OKC along with Spaghetti Factory (and hopefully the reopening of Spagh Whse into something)

Went to soft opening this morning for Culprits. Food was excellent and pricing was better than what I expected for being in hotel. The portions were huge. They serve the hash brown balls from Hatch. My son said the pancakes were better than hatch.

The shrimp and grits were a little spicy (in a good way....it is blackened) My wife really liked the avocado toast with the chopped hard boiled eggs on top.

We will be trying dinner there Friday night but expect it to be excellent as well.

Nice addition to Bricktown. Provisions Concepts did a great job.

Hopefully we'll see more of this standard and less of the $2 Bud Light weekend-only 'clubs'.

For those that don't know, the developer of this project is Andy Patel and he has quite an amazing story.

He started off poor and bought a run-down motel in Tulsa and lived there while he slowly fixed it up. He repeated this process until he had enough capital to start new development with national flags. Now, he has a very impressive portfolio.

This entire project has been an exercise in persistence. So many hurdles and it took them a long time before they could even get started, but the final product is gorgeous and a great asset to Bricktown and downtown.

if the steak is prime the cost for them would be in in the high 20's low 30's

Also, a similar story for Provision Concepts which operates Culprits.

It started with Broadway 10 6 or 7 years ago. Two young guys learned their trade from Hal Smith and set off on their own.

Sidecar in Auto Alley was really an afterthought and done somewhat as a favor to the Midtown Renaissance guys.

Recently, Jeff Dixon bought out his partner and now owns the entire restaurant group. In another year or two he'll have almost 2 dozen restaurants and bars in Oklahoma. The guy is super sharp and works his tail off.

That is the going rate for a good steak.

It is in line with the other nice steak houses. The ranch is $67 for 14 ounces and mahogany is $55 for 14 ounces. The ribeye here for $62 is a 16 ounce which is the same size and at Broadway 10. (Same people) Red Prime only has a 18 ounce bone in for $65

Can confirm this....

Had a 21 oz Bone-in Prime Ribeye at Mahogany Sunday night for $65 and they had an 18oz 40 day dry aged bone-in ribeye for $80 as a special that night.

Dekora was a rebrand of In The Raw, after it was purchased by an OKC couple. Unfortunately their relationship soured and it affected several operations they owned, Dekora included. After they closed Dekora the space was turned into the Sushi Bar, which was operated by Rogers Concepts. In my personal opinion the buildings immediately adjacent the theater should be fast casual (Fuzzy's, Dave's Hot Chicken, Texadelphia, Starbucks) or experiential (HeyDay), based mostly on the type of customer attracted by the theater. They typically are not there for an upscale or heavy dining experience.

All these places, Fuzzy's, surely Dave's Hot Chicken, Texadelphia, Starbucks are successful with the DT workers lunch crowd too.

I liked in the Raw and Dekora though. Sussy italian was a messy concept. Hopefully those spots will turn into something soon.
