This is a residential property I have been driving by for years and has been in bad condition since at least 2003. At least, that’s as far back as the county assessor has pics of it. It is just a 2,900 building (looks like apartments) but there are two garage apartments behind it at 540 and 560 sf. Yesterday, I saw a dumpster behind the main building and the garages with apartments above them had been cleaned out. The same person has owned the prosperity since 1996, so I am glad to see some movement going on this property. Not sure what the plans are, but happy some work is being done on a property that is the biggest eye sore in the area.

Glad to hear this.

I feel like it’s a big win for the area as I am sure you know which building I am talking about. I have driven by it thousands of times and always hoped someone would do something with it.

Yes, I have always hoped someone would rehab it. Fingers crossed.

Saw today that they started work on the garages behind the main building.

One thing that is great about the unmet housing demand is people are finally getting around to improving so many languishing properties like this all over the city.

Drove by last night and it looks like all the concrete is out and they are putting in rebar to a new drive and parking behind the main structure.

Walked by today and was surprised at the progress being made. The building in front is going to be gorgeous when done!

Today they were pouring concrete for the drive and I think all of the windows in the main house have been replaced.

I have driven by this at night and there are different colored lights in each room upstairs. I am not sure what this is, but I don't think it is a simple remodel into more apartments. Could be wrong though.

the lighting is definitely interesting. it seemes to be strips of light in the ceiling and through walls upstairs. most the time they are blue. we have wondered what on earth the space will be.

I noticed it was sold to a Bullock Holdings in 2022 for $90,000. The property to the east is also undergoing renovations, but they are not owned by the same entity or even common guarantors.

Found this property on airbnb, so it all makes sense now.

Theres a market for a 16 person Airbnb at $1500/night thats not even that close to the plaza?! Maybe all it takes is 4 bookings a month to make some money. Idk but seems like apartments would be the simpler and more durable concept.

If you look at the host profile, they are renting out all of the units, but that specific listing is for every single unit in the "compound". Per the reviews on the host, it looks like the smaller 1 bedroom units are already in-use.

I do find the concept a little strange since basically the amenities are "shared" unless the entire thing is rented by your group.
