View Full Version : Stimulus Check
PurpleChicken 01-12-2021, 10:07 PM Has anyone gotten one on this new round? Supposed to be 600.00.
I went to the IRS site, Get My Payment and it says:
We scheduled your payment to be mailed on January 6, 2021 to the address we have on file for you.
We will mail you a letter with additional information on this payment.
But I haven't seen anything.
Tks,
soonergolfer 01-12-2021, 10:30 PM Mine had the same date. Haven’t received yet either.
Thomas Vu 01-12-2021, 11:44 PM I received mine on 1/4
educator1953 01-13-2021, 04:51 AM My husband and I both received ours on January 4. I was surprised we got it that soon.
Another relative of our received theirs on the fourth too.
corwin1968 01-13-2021, 07:40 AM People who filed 2019 taxes with Turbotax had a delay due to the IRS depositing to wrong accounts. That happened to us, but we got our stimulus deposit this weekend.
Bellaboo 01-13-2021, 08:00 AM We got both of ours direct deposit last week.

shavethewhales 01-18-2021, 04:58 PM Still waiting here. Also filed with turbotax. I am told the mail in my area is way behind due to hang ups at USPS.
PurpleChicken 01-19-2021, 07:03 PM Yeah, I'm still waiting.
Swake 01-19-2021, 07:36 PM Yeah, I'm still waiting.
I never got mine, I'm going to have to file it on my taxes.
MikeLucky 01-19-2021, 09:49 PM We had a deposit from the IRS on 12/31 for $397. I guess that's our stimulus. Lol
mugofbeer 01-30-2021, 10:20 AM Don't fret just yet, l got mine yesterday.

Still nothing.
jerrywall 03-01-2021, 01:17 PM If you haven't gotten it yet, at this point I'd expect one not to show up, but you can collect it when you do your tax return.
jompster 03-01-2021, 01:38 PM ^ Yes, and if anyone is looking for it in tax software, it's called the Recovery Rebate Credit.
FighttheGoodFight 03-01-2021, 01:42 PM You should check here: https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment
If it isn't in there then put it on your taxes to get that money back.

Yes, I’ve been there before and it say it should have been sent out. I just never received it.
mugofbeer 03-02-2021, 09:38 PM I got a mailing from the IRS (scared the **** out of me) that said to write it off taxes by this time. I finally got a check like 3 weeks ago.

Thanks. My check is scheduled to be deposited on March 17, 2021. Going to blow it on a 17" Dell XPS laptop.
oklip955 03-15-2021, 08:59 AM Same here March 17,2021. Not going to blow it. Enjoy your new laptop, I wished I went with a 17 in instead of a 15.
Bill Robertson 03-15-2021, 09:25 AM The 17th must be a big day. I'm having my fence replaced. Whee!!
PurpleChicken 03-15-2021, 08:15 PM So today, after I filed my taxes on Friday, I received my last stimulus check... LOL. Gwad, what a cluster..
Oklapatriot 03-25-2021, 08:24 AM I used mine to "stimulate" the Dentist. The Dentist said business was booming, and when I asked him what he attributed it to he replied in a whisper "stimulus."
MikeLucky 03-25-2021, 11:03 AM We aren't getting a penny. We're in the group that got graduated payments the first two times based on what we made last year, but with this round we get ZERO. It really sucks because now I'm unemployed and yet we don't get any of the stimulus because of what I used to make. lol. Gotta love it....

You’ll get it eventually when you file taxes next year. I get that doesn’t do much for you now. B

I don't think we'll get it then either. We are in the group that doesn't qualify based on our income from last year. Even though I'm unemployed and broke now, last year we made too much.

You’ll get it when you do your 2021 taxes next year.

No, we won't. Our AGI was over $160,000 last year before I got laid off. So, despite the fact that I'm currently unemployed, we don't qualify for the 3rd round whatsoever.
And, the cherry on top is that I applied for my unemployment on October 11, and still haven't received one single penny of it. That's a fun little side note. Lol

Believe you will get a payment next year based on your 2021 AGI, though. Assuming you don’t get a high paying gig this year. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.
^
AGI is based on the last tax return you filed.

Yes that is correct. The third stimulus is based on 2021 AGI. The govt is writing checks based on 2019 or 2020 numbers but once you file your 2021 return you will see the full stimulus (assuming you don’t make over 150k in 2021 for a married couple)

I haven't seen that anywhere, but if true, that is some help on the other side. I'd rather have the cash now, but I'd also rather have my 17 weeks of unemployment money too, but don't know when that is happening either. lol
Like Pete said, I understood that this 3rd round is based on the last filed taxes. We've already filed for 2020 so I assumed they would use that.
ChrisHayes 03-26-2021, 12:40 PM I used mine to pay off the balance of my car loan. I'm seriously concerned about inflation because of all the money printing that has been done so I would like most if not all people use it to pay off debt or just plain old monthly bills.
Bits_Of_Real_Panther 05-28-2021, 12:42 PM I could use another stimcheck
dford2 06-01-2021, 04:44 AM Stimulus checks, increased unemployment, when is enough, enough. All I hear is it's free money, why not take it, IF IT'S FROM THE GOVERNMENT, IT'S NOT FREE. Call me old school, but I prefer to work for what need.
