I went ahead and just took the whole week off. I have a lot of stuff to catch up on around my house, and the weather will be decent for getting a few things done outside I have been putting off. Perfect week to get the second dose :)
Yeah!!!

For full disclosure I am an "expat" living in CO. I am not sure about OK's procedure for signing up; mine was offered to me by my place of employment.

Got my 2nd Moderna shot today. Initial reaction much quicker than first shot. Arm was beginning to get sore about 45 minutes after injection and a headache began forming about the same time. It has been a little over 4 hours and my eyes are starting to get heavier, but not really feeling lethargic yet. Just that I could probably use a nap, but would be fine without one. We’ll see what other symptoms develop.

This was me on my 1st Moderna shot, lethargic as heck and took about 2 days.
Makes me worried about the 2nd shot since most say it's worse. Thanks for sharing Catch

9-hr update: headache has mostly subsided, still there. Earlier it felt like I had gone headfirst through a storefront window. Mainly just a sore arm, now. I would estimate it is about 150% the pain level of the first dose (going from a 3 to a 4.5 on catch22's patented 10 point pain scale). Strangely enough, my other arm is sore now, but just a general discomfort (1 out of 10). In my other post I mentioned some early fatigue - completely went away. I have actually been super busy cleaning my house. If anything I have way more energy right now than I did immediately after getting the shot.

Eating ice cream and watching a Pink Floyd concert...

On your OSDH vaccine sign up portal you can increase your search from 25 miles to 200 and see pretty much every city in Oklahoma.

Well I feel like crap today. Couldn’t sleep a wink last night, between the arm pain and resurgence of the headache. Just as I was about to finally doze off around 230am or 3am it felt like a cold front passed over my body. Think those York Peppermint Patty commercials. The chills weren’t terrible really, just annoying. Had both pups curled up next to me so was able to stay warm. Headache is pounding now so I have decided to get up and get some breakfast. Will definitely be taking a nap later if I can, more for lack of sleep than fatigue induced from the vaccine.

It is really wild to see the difference in people's experience. Out of the 15 friends I have who have gotten the vaccine (both Pfizer and Moderna) only one had anything more than a sore arm.

My friend had his Moderna shot a 2nd one a week ago. Had 99.7-100.1 fever for about 24 hours, chills, and headache. Side Note https://vaccine-alerts.com/ is a great site. There are well over 200 appointments available, first shot, if your willing to drive 75 miles from OKC. Set you location to 75 miles. Most of them are at Wal-mart.

When my slot becomes available for the 2nd shot in a couple of weeks, I may just drive back out to Elk City as I did for the first round.

It was only 90 minutes each way, super easy and efficient, and the people there were incredibly nice.

Received my second Pfizer shot yesterday morning. Around noon, I started feeling very tired and my arm started to feel very sore. Ended up leaving work early. Had body aches and felt fatigue all afternoon and evening. I was in bed by 9pm and asleep by 10pm, which is very early for me. At about 1:30am, I woke up feeling chills and severe body aches. Managed to fall back asleep and didn't wake up until 8:45am today. Glad I booked work off today as a precaution. Feeling much better this afternoon. My first dose wasn't anything like this. The only thing I had with that was a slight headache and a sore arm.

Really appreciate people sharing their vaccine experiences.

I get my 2nd Moderna shot in about 3 weeks and will now plan to take it easy for a day or two.

I got my first Moderna Saturday and while it hit me some over the weekend (I was tired, and my arm hurt) it seemed to really hit me yesterday. Chills, achy muscles, nausea, headaches; the full spectrum except for a fever. I know it put me in a foul mood all day. All those symptoms were gone this morning though and I feel great.

I'm not looking forward to the second shot though (well, I am, just not the after effects).

Got the first Moderna 01/14, and only a sore arm the next day, second shot 02/11, that evening and next day a bit like a flu vaccination, a bit of unease and sore arm, but never really felt ‘sick’. 70 years old. Some friends (not sure which vaccine) had some fevers and chills next day, but recovered quickly.

Got my first dose of Pfizer on 2/9 only my arm that was poked was sore. Just got my second dose yesterday and both of my arms were sore and still are a little bit, but nothing that needs pain medication.

I received my first Moderna four weeks ago today, little soreness for less than 24 hours, now you folks have me concerned about my second vaccine which I will receive at 9:05 tomorrow morning.

p.s. I'm not really concerned, any side effect is better than the alternative, catching the disease!

The person who gave me my second shot said I can take a standard dose of Tylenol immediately after receiving the injection to limit side effects. I didnt because I assumed it would be similar to the first shot but slightly more intense. In retrospect, I wish I had loaded up the Tylenol at the same time. Something to consider.

32 hours in for me and my headache and body aches are gone. Just down to a slightly sore arm. Hours 12-20 were the worst for me. Based on how things are trending tomorrow afternoon I should feel 100%.

Good luck and congrats on the vaccine!

All of the J&J vaccines are in the eastern part of the state right now. There's a great group on Facebook with nearly 8k people called Vaccinate Our State: Helping Okies One Shot at a Time that has lots of detailed information. One of their big things is helping people book appointments. So far they've signed up 1500 people for a vaccine.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/vaccinateok2021/
(https://www.facebook.com/groups/vaccinateok2021/)

They appear to be on the eastern part of the state, but here is a list of locations showing up in the portal with Johnson & Johnson or Janssen
-McAlester
-Eufaula (McIntosh County)
-Checotah (McIntosh County)
-Muskogee
-Tahlequah (Cherokee County)
-Sallisaw (Sequoyah County)
-Stillwell (Adair County)
-Okemah (Okfuskee County)
-Okmulgee
Sooner Pharmacy in Norman is also trying to gauge interest in the J&J vaccine, so please visit their page and connect with them if you're interested.
United Discount Pharmacy in OKC will soon have some as well. Visit their page for details.

Thank you midtownerokc. I was wondering why we haven't heard more about it on the news here in OKC. They also said all of phase 2 is going to now open up on Monday. I check vaccine tracker and there are plenty of shots available still for next week. Nothing super close to OKC but if your willing to drive 45 minutes to an hour you should have not problem finding a shot. Might get a bit more difficult with more people being added next week though.

Sounds like they are targeting eastern Oklahoma which has the lowest percent vaccinated so far. Probably thinking try to catch this area with single shots because two might not happen

I received my first Pfizer shot on Saturday, with initial symptoms just being arm soreness Sunday morning. As the day progressed, I had chills followed by high temps and night sweats. Feeling much better today, but the soreness is still lingering and have a head fog. I had COVID back in August and some research I've read (albeit there's conflicting information out there) has said the reactions may be stronger for people who have already had the virus. I'm hoping this isn't a bad sign for how I will react to the second dose.

I'm thinking that maybe the first dose for those of us that already had the virus might be like the second dose for those that haven't. And that our second dose will be like a third dose and our systems are getting use to it by now. Or I might be way off. My wife will know next week and I'll know the week after.

With my wife and I post vaccine symptoms followed the same mode as virus symptoms as far as severity. My virus symptoms were quite a bit worse than hers. Post vaccine I was exhausted and had an off and on headache for a day. And the runs for a few days. Plus the sore, swollen arm. All she had was a sore arm.

Got my vaccine through the Chickasaw Nation this morning as the spouse of a teacher (naturally one day before they announce I'd have been eligible more generally, lol). It required a trip to Ada, but it was an amazingly efficient and smooth process. So far just soreness at the injection site and some weird tenderness over my body, but I can't tell if I'm just overanalyzing everything at this point. So relieved.

See, that's what I'm asking about. Are spouses eligible if their partner is in a phase that's active? Seems like in some cases they are and in other cases, they aren't. Calling around okc, and it's pretty cut and dry: No.
