Laramie 11-16-2020, 09:49 AM Oklahoma's NBA, The Thunder
The Oklahoma City Thunder have released their new 'City Edition' uniforms for the upcoming season.
For the first time, only the name “Oklahoma” will appear across the chest of the Thunder’s jersey. The all caps black lettering is similar to the font on the state flag.

Love's have the brightest patch among any of the 30 NBA franchises.
king183 11-16-2020, 09:50 AM They look great, with the exception of the horrendous Love's logo.
Anonymous. 11-16-2020, 09:50 AM I swear the Loves logo is getting larger, so disgusting.
How are the city jerseys not even going to say City???
I like the shorts I guess...
BoulderSooner 11-16-2020, 09:58 AM these are pretty terrible especially when compared to last years city edition (which was the OKC memorial uniform)

Agree, this is the 'city edition' jersey. Well the rest of the jerseys will have OKC or Oklahoma City on them.

Looks like a mix of the Trailblazers and the 90s Cavs jersey's with a sprinkling of NASCAR on top.

Hadn't thought about a NASCAR influence. That might knock my opinion down a notch.
Laramie 11-16-2020, 11:58 AM Thunder ownership group...
Did anyone purchase the Aubrey McClendon share of the Thunder.

Oh man, Oklahoma City continues to be a farm team for top 10 U. S. market cities.

i would bet they try to send rubio to somewhere else ... Oubre is only 24 so he fits the team timeline ..
Celebrator 11-16-2020, 01:18 PM I am glad I am not a Thunder fan, they are ugly
Didn't you say you were a Magic fan? Those have to be some of the worst unis in the league! Not saying the Thunder's are great, but you can't tell me Orlando's are better, c'mon.
OKCretro 11-16-2020, 01:27 PM Should have realized something was up when the jersey released today was SGA's and not CP3's.
Hopefully CP3 will come back one day as a coach
dankrutka 11-16-2020, 01:42 PM I am not a fan of the new jerseys, but they're slowly growing on me. However, I am a big fan of the CP3 trade. I suspect we'll try to move Rubio and Oubre for even more assets, we got two young players who we can give a shot, and then another first round pick. We're in a great spot.
I am going to miss last year's team. They were such a fun group. One of my favorite teams of all time.
Southsider2 11-16-2020, 01:49 PM Ty Jerome and Jalen Lecque both have solid potential. Jalen is like a way less athletic baby Russ, I'm really excited about his potential As far as Oubre and Rubio, blehhh. I hope both of them move on as quickly as possible. I'm really excited to see what we do in this draft! Don't put too much stock in the "bad draft" talk, what that really means is there's uncertainty because they've missed a full season to evaluate players. There's some great talent in this draft and whoever we pick will likely be around 18-19 years old, plenty of time for development with the other young pieces we already have.
dankrutka 11-16-2020, 02:29 PM I actually wouldn't say Jalen is a less athletic Russ. He's probably as athletic as Russ. He's just a lot less talented player.
I agree that the "bad draft" talk is largely about the top of the draft. The middle of the draft—where OKC is currently—seems pretty typical. I don't think we'll keep Green, Oubre, and Rubio, but for fun, here's what the rotation may look like (understanding there's fluidity in positions, especially PG/SG):
PG: Shai/Rubio
SG: Dort/Green/Jerome/Lecque/Ferg
SF: Oubre/Hami
PF: Bazley/Roby
C: Adams
Definitely going to need some more bigs. Having said that, more moves are coming.
Laramie 11-16-2020, 02:38 PM Rubio in a Thunder jersey, can't wait to see this...

Magic’s city uniforms are ugly too, they are orange uniforms which are not Magic’s colors, yuck
Bill Robertson 11-16-2020, 02:53 PM Rubio in a Thunder jersey, can't wait to see this...
I doubt that you will. I think the only vet on this roster will be Adams. And if the right deal came up for him........?

Perhaps you're right about Lecque. I have nothing to back my statement besides my short film eval of him. He has hops for sure and far as size he's only 5Lbs lighter than Russ was coming into the league. What stood out to me was that he doesn't shift into top gear like Russ which actually might be a good thing. At the end of the day, he's an undrafted guy I don't expect too much from him but you really never know.
But anyway, I actually love the idea of shifting Bazely to the 4. As he continues to fill out we could shift to a more modern small-ball lineup and try to draft a solid wing next year (sorry, I'm not huge on Oubre). I'm curious to see what happens with Steve, my gut tells me he sticks around and signs a much smaller contract. Presti has been shopping him it seems like every year now and hasn't pulled the trigger. I think he still could be a valuable piece on the court setting screens and he's a great locker room guy which might be equally as important considering what's coming.

Yeah, Bazley playing the 4 has everything to do with whether he can handle some of the bigger 4s on the board and in the paint. I agree, that's where he should be playing. I'm really excited to see him develop.
And, yeah, if you're not getting value back then just keep Steve. I'd be happy re-signing him to a smaller contract.

I could be wrong already. Rubio isn't a bad PG and his contract isn't outrageous. He might stay around for a bit.
dankrutka 11-16-2020, 06:36 PM I could be wrong already. Rubio isn't a bad PG and his contract isn't outrageous. He might stay around for a bit.
He's fine. He's a league average point guard. But, why would OKC want him? He'd take developmental minutes from our young players without any real purpose. The Thunder are pretty loaded at guard with SGA, Dort, Jerome, Lecque, and Ferg. I bet the Thunder would move on from Rubio for even a second round pick. But, the flip side is that he could be a good veteran to have around who wouldn't impact winning too much either.
SoonersFan12 11-16-2020, 11:29 PM Does anyone think Steven Adams is getting traded?

18 players listed on the ESPN Thunder Roster site: https://www.espn.com/nba/team/roster/_/name/okc/oklahoma-city-thunder

best case is either a one year deal with the thunder but more likely a sign and trade that brings the thunder more draft picks

Hervey too. So, technically, none of them are with the Thunder now. And likely none of them will be.
There is no chance Gallinari returns. We're trying to lose this season. Best case is that we will sign and trade him to a team without cap room, but we'd only get anything worthwhile if we take on a bad contract.

I was being a little tongue-in-cheek overly technical. UFAs are on the roster until Friday.
OKCRT 11-17-2020, 03:51 PM Like we need more draft picks...
Thunder need to not mess around this season and just go into full tank mode. They don't need any more picks they just need to get into the lotto and try to get some top talent. They have enough talent today if they added a player here or there they could prob sneak into the playoffs but that would only delay the rebuild. Take your lumps and tank it this season. Hopefully the pain doesn't last too long.
dankrutka 11-17-2020, 04:23 PM Any team can always use more picks. Picks are assets that you can use to (a) draft players or (b) trade for other assets. Since the Thunder want to be bad this upcoming season so their pick will be high in the loaded 2021 draft, they don't want good players back in these trades (unless they're really young and teams generally don't give up good, young players). Thus, the Thunder probably should want more picks.
And, I'd expect the Thunder to be out of the playoffs for the next few seasons. Their cornerstone players right now are 20, 21, and 22. They're building long term. They're not going to rush it. Just enjoy the development. Young teams can be fun because expectations are so low.

This is why they hired Daignault. He’s cheap and a perfectly capable tank commander. I think he even has a military background.
Bill Robertson 11-18-2020, 04:41 PM If Woj is right the Thunder is blowing up the trade lines.
PoliSciGuy 11-18-2020, 04:43 PM What if we make the whole team out of draft picks?
Southsider2 11-18-2020, 05:04 PM My god Horford's contract is miserable. He's a nice player but oooof.
SoonersFan12 11-18-2020, 05:46 PM Thunder are looking to flip Kelly Oubre for a first round pick and Thunder are deep in talks with Mavericks on a sign and trade that would send Gallianari for #18 pick
Dob Hooligan 11-18-2020, 06:50 PM A couple things I am wondering about, but can't find the answer:
1. How many of our own first round picks do we own over the next 4 years?
2. What is the salary floor for this season?

dankrutka 11-19-2020, 09:41 AM OKC is doing what we thought they'd do. Trading out good players so they can lose this season, but bringing assets and talent. Puko is a high upside swing for the fences, but it's going to take him a while. We'll see about the other three Euros they got on draft night. More moves are coming...
I have no idea about either. But I do know that all the dump everyone can't really happen because they will have to hit the minimum.
In trades, you have to take money back. So, even though the Thunder keep trading players, they get others back. Horford is a big contract. Hard to imagine OKC goes into the season with Horford, Adams, and Muscala.
