Why? Serves a better purpose as a temporary parking lot right now then a mud hole in the ground. Might as well fill the holes up, and put gravel down.

Went by here earlier this evening and there are trees growing out of the crater. I've given up all hope

They have yet to file their building permit application, so they are nowhere close to starting. After the application is submitted on a project of this size, it's several months (and often longer) before it is issued due to the back-and-forth.

They filed their design review plans well after the pandemic, so they would have been well aware of construction costs and interest rates.

I'm worried about this project and in the meantime, it's a hideous dirt hole with cheap plastic fencing right in the heart of Midtown.

Leaving the property the way it is simply unacceptable... Having an empty lot that's filled with grass, parking, or anything merely presentable, doesn't leave anyone in question but this huge centerpiece of land in Midtown with nothing but dirt and big holes that get filled with muddy water is a piece of land you can't put on the back burner. So strange that this is one of the projects that won't move forward. Quite sad.

It looks bad but if this underwhelming project with plenty of parking around a lame building doesn’t happen; it will be a win in the long term.

Exactly the opposite of this.

That project, though not big, would be a good fit for the area. I really wonder if this project might have turned into a victim of the higher interest rates and what's going on economically. There's a much bigger project in Bricktown that I hope that doesn't happen to.

That project will keep delaying itself into a distant memory, I fear. I hope I am proven wrong.

Exactly the opposite of this.

How ?
A parcel like that should see a triangular complex (hausmann style almost) with more density, not a straight building with a parking lot making my neighborhood Walmart jealous.

Well, with the concept of closing off the traffic and using the street could be a project unlike anything OKC has. So it’s worth seeing become reality for the uniqueness and life it could bring to the area. Though, I do understand wanting a triangular building. You’re not wrong that it would look really nice there.

Completely agree - this is not the right project for this site
