The big sign has been taken down for some time now. I saw some people bringing pallets of food supplies out and loading it all up, so I stopped to ask about it. They said it's closed for good and they were taking it to the I-240/Penn location in South OKC. Nothing was said about the I-40/MacArthur location.
According to their wesbite for their 5 area locations...
"Operations Temporarily Suspended":
5702 NW Expressway
1501 SW 74th
1501 S. Sooner
"Dining Room has safely reopened":
Norman
520 S. MacArthur

I was simply passing along what the employees loading stuff out of there told me. And the big sign out front is gone.

Thank you for doing that.
I've curious about what is going on and how "temporary" these closings area.

This sign is on the entrance door.1632316323
I don't know for a fact, but I'll go out on a limb and assume that they did not own the building outright. I'll bet they just could not keep up the loan or lease or rent payments and defaulted. They're probably lucky to get some of their things out of the building at this stage.
I remember when this location first opened. Lines were frequently to the door, all tables were full and you'd have to wait for a table. They were making money, good big money, hand over fist for a long time.
This says all the coporate locations are closed for good and then some franchices are trying to stay afloat with carryout.
Buffets have it particularly bad right now and that is not likely to change soon.

The one West on I-40 was open last night when I drove by about 7:15 PM. Parking lot was about 3/4th's full.
I just can't rationalize a meal at Golden Corral being worth potentially getting Covid for..... Then again I haven't even been able to rationalize going to Mahogany for a meal either.

I wonder what steps they are taking? Is it still self serve or do they serve you? No desire to go but curious how all the buffets are adapting. The only buffets I used to go to are Golden Palace on Meridian, Thai House on 23rd and Taj on 23rd. Haven't been since COVID though.
