I was passing by the old Sears store at SW 44th and Western yesterday evening and I saw a Midwest Wrecking tractor and trailer parked in the front parking lot that faces Western. I know seeing wrecking vehicles and machinery sitting at a site is never a good sign. So Would anyone be able to check demolition permits for this site or know what might be happening. It could be just parked there but it seemed strange with no other demo happening in that area that I know of. Thanks everyone!!

There haven't been any demo permits for this property.

But, they usually are issued the same day, so often they'll have equipment on site, have someone drive to file the permit, then proceed once they get the phone call.

Also, if a building has a big MW spray-painted on it, that's usually a very good prediction that it's coming down and usually pretty quickly, so look for that, pretty hard to miss most of the time.
