This will be the first Major played at the course following their $11 million renovation. Great news for golf in the state of Oklahoma.

Good for Southern Hills. I know it's been between 2025 and 2030 for a while now. I think 2025 is going to Quail Hollow (yawn).

Selfishly, I hope the move of the PGA to Frisco they can add Oak Tree National back in the rotation in the future.

Our region doesn't have the number of prestegious courses like other parts of the country do. We're lucky that both Tulsa and OKC both have one to potentially host these types of tournaments.

This was announced a couple of years ago, right?

Edit: I see now that is was confirmed for 2030. Before it was announced that it would go there by 2030 like Richard mentioned.

They announced a few years ago that they had been selected to host, but the 2030 was just announced today.

Pretty incredible to have 8 majors. 3 US opens and 5 PGAs.

Not until 2030. It would be really nice if Tulsa got about 3 five stacks, a light rail line, and about 3 new super tall skyscrapers by that time which would do wonders to showcase the city.

We do know the Tulsa gathering place will be entirely complete as will the Gilcrease freeway, more downtown development, the river will be dammed with a nice pedestrian bridge, and the US-75/I-44 interchange will be an impressive 5 stack once finished. Hopefully more is announced. And if Tesla announces a GigaTruck factory in Tulsa that is icing on the cake.

Great stuff.

Doubtful by 2030 unless there is some kind of federal stimulus, more like 2035 at this point
