Need a brake job... Where to go?

I know AAA and Hibdon's does them. Any other suggestions?

I've really liked the work Brian's Automotive has done.

+1. I remember when he worked for his dad at Doug's in the 90's. He's not the cheapest but he does quality work.

Pete, a little closer for you would be Cherokee Hills Auto just east of Rockwell on 63rd. Until we recently moved, I took all my cars there. Reasonably priced, scrupulously honest, and they stand behind their work.

Even closer would be Pro Auto Service on NE corner of 30th/Penn. They replaced a gasket (I think it was the intake manifold) on my wife's Honda, pleased with their service. The mechanic has worked with/for the owner for a couple of decades and drives in from somewhere ridiculously far every day because they trust each other so well (an auto mechanic can probably work anywhere he wants, so choosing to drive a long distance each day says a lot about them). The place doesn't look like much, but they did good work on the gasket replacement, and reasonably priced IIRC.

You might also check with some of mobile mechanics if you dont want to leave home. The prices might be a bit higher but no driving or worrying about social distance!

For the stuff I can't/won't tackle, I've had work done on my vehicles at Christian Brothers. They've always done top-notch work, though they are a bit on the pricey side. Worth a quote for comparison purposes.

you're not kidding on christian brothers being pricey... i have never gone back after being quoted ~$900 to replace an oil pan on a tahoe. i ended up going to another shop and spent ~$300.

Just for fun; take it by here. This is one of those guys that was on that street racing TV show:

Interesting also; Wayne is originally from England of all places.

Todds Downtown Auto. Long time shop, fair and honest Downtown Auto has been good to me. Todd is a good communicator too, which is a skill in short supply with auto repair shops, IME.

If it is a Toyota or Honda, Hondura is as honest as you can get. I have have always had great service there.

Another thought. If you have disc brakes, they are not too hard to change a decent YouTube video can get you there.

Portland Tune and Brake, totally recommend them. He's on Portland just south of NW Expressway.

Another recommendation of Cherokee Auto on NW 63rd near Rockwell.

They don't try to sell you stuff you don't need, and they do good work.

Good people.
