Wow. Never heard of the place. All these people in line for chicken salad. Who would have thought? Amazing. Food looks good though.
Here are some shortcuts for those like me who have never heard of them.

They have been open for a while in Edmond and soon will be in Chisholm Creek as well.

They have a great reputation and a good following.

They will do great things at this location. This area is a great food area and getting better. Lots of great local, and a good select list of chains like Hopdoddy, Torchy's, Zoe's, Chicken Salad Chick and soon to be Flower Child.

I believe they do a promo where the first 100 customers get free chicken salad for a year. which would explain the line.

I sampled a few of their chicken salad variations at the block party on chisholm creek this past weekend. I enjoyed all of them and look forward to it when it opens at chisholm.

It appears the Nichols Hills Plaza location has closed. I have only driven by that location but their website seems to indicate that all Oklahoma locations have closed.

It appears that this concept will be reopening in the OKC area. This is really good concept. I did not want to post the link but saw it in the DO. A franchisee has signed a deal for 6 area locations. Source was from the DO Food Section from January 29.

Hopefully they do better than the last franchisee.

when a place works almost everywhere but doesn't in okc .. you can bet it was the operator ... two locations reopened in tulsa area a few months ago ..

11-Unit Agreement: Behind the double-digit 11-unit agreement in Austin are Troy Morrison and Keaton Craig. A seasoned multi-brand franchisee, Morrison's portfolio consists of Taco Bell and Wingstop locations. In addition to the multi-unit Austin development, Morrison simultaneously signed a six location agreement with Chicken Salad Chick for Oklahoma City, OK.

The concept has been very popular elsewhere.

Not sure what went wrong with the last franchisee.

Will be interesting to see the locations they choose this time around, but they typically have a drive-thru.

I was a big fan of CSC and tried it at the original location in Auburn visiting my family back in 2015. So, when they came here, we got really excited. The 2nd street location (near Neighborhood Jam and Pub W) was the first to open and we went there once a week. The 63rd Street location opened (if I remember correctly) late February, early March of 2020 and so they had basically no time to hire and train people. Every time we went there, there would be people talking in the back and about 5-7 tables with remnants from previous diners there. During COVID, we ordered take out from there 10-12 times and every time but once that I can remember, something on the order was wrong.

Logn story short, it was the operator and the timing and I hope this new one does better.

Yes, agree with this. Then the hours were cut back, no weekends and that took my business elsewhere. It was no longer a spot to go. I'm glad to see the concept returning

Thanks Pete for the update. Any idea when they will start work?

As I stated above, we went to the original, loved it and we were super excited when it came to town but we were disappointed. Glad to know a new operator is coming back to OKC with it.

Sweet! Is BRC moving or just going under? Also, that location does not have a long history of success...first PDQ chicken tried there, now BRC....hopefully CSC sticks around.

Just today they filed their building permit application, so we are probably 1-3 months out from work starting.

This new location has quite a bit of indoor seating, a patio, and an extensive drive-thru.

As I recall, the previous 63rd & Western and Chisholm Creek locations did not have a drive-thru and seemed to be smaller. Even the Edmond location was not free-standing like this first one by the new franchisee.

It seems a bigger investment will be made in the locations in addition to having a successful operator.

In addition to the old Black Rifle location at 14215 N. Penn, Chicken Salad Chick will open 8/17 at 750 NW 19th in Moore, which I believe is the old Pie Five location.

The N. Penn location should open in September.

Chicken Salad Chick of Moore is owned and operated by Troy Morrison, an experienced restaurant franchise owner who oversees 95 Taco Bell and Wing Stop franchises nationwide. Morrison has big expansion plans for the state, as he’s acquired the rights to five more Chicken Salad Chick locations in Oklahoma and 11 in Austin, TX. The Moore restaurant is the first of his to open while the others are under construction.

“I’m excited and grateful for the opportunity to introduce Chicken Salad Chick to the Moore community,” said Troy Morrison, franchise owner of Chicken Salad Chick of Moore. “Chicken Salad Chick’s dedication to exceptional food and dining experiences continues to inspire me to expand my portfolio. Our menu caters to a wide range of tastes, from health-conscious individuals to families and professionals seeking quick, nutritious meals. I’m incredibly fortunate to work side-by-side with a talented and passionate team and look forward to sharing our delicious menu items with Moore residents very soon!”

Chicken Salad Chick is known for its dozen-plus variety of made-from-scratch chicken salad flavors, fresh side salads, gourmet soups, signature sandwiches, and desserts. The new Moore location offers in-restaurant and outdoor patio dining, take-out, curbside pickup, third-party delivery, and catering options. The Moore opening marks the brand’s fourth location in Oklahoma, following a recent opening in Broken Arrow and two in Tulsa.

“We’re thrilled to reenter the Oklahoma City market with our new franchise owner, Troy Morrison,” said Scott Deviney, president and CEO of Chicken Salad Chick. “Oklahoma City is a key region for us because of its lively community and strong support for local businesses. We’re for Troy and his team to engage the Moore community with our unique hospitality and made from scratch food. His prior restaurant franchising experience, paired with his dedication to serving others, makes him the perfect candidate to continue growing our brand in the Sooner State.”

Giving back to the community is an important focus for the Moore team and the Chicken Salad Chick brand, which established the CSC Foundation to support CURE Childhood Cancer and local food banks with fundraisers throughout the year. As part of pre-opening Friends & Family events in Moore, the restaurant will be raising money for The Toby Keith Foundation, which funds the building and operation of the “OK Kids Korral,” a home-away-from-home for children battling cancer.

Chicken Salad Chick of Moore will be open Monday – Saturday from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. For more information, visit www.chickensaladchick.com. Follow Chicken Salad Chick on Facebook and Instagram for the latest news and trends.

So, I am excited that CSC is coming back to OKC but am I the only one concerned that a guy that owns Taco Bells and Wing Stops is going to be running these? I don't think I have been to either of those where I was blown away by the service and that was part of the issue of the old CSC on 63rd. Not trying to be a pessimist and I hoping I am wrong, but I am a little concerned. Again, maybe it's just me.
