Plutonic Panda 12-28-2021, 01:05 PM Good! I use this location frequently and the gas pumps suck, It will be nice to have the pizza option. You aren't kidding they are really dumping a ton of money in this town. It's hard to wrap my head around it sometimes just how big of an expansion they took at once here.

Plus 7-11 and OnCue.
I'm sure the total investment is well north of $1 billion in the OKC area in just the last several years.
scottk 12-29-2021, 04:46 PM Construction has started on the NW 192nd & Penn location. They are still in the framing stage and there is a lot of material on site and workers were arriving at 7:15 on a Saturday morning, so hopefully it goes up pretty fast.
Exterior brick work looks to be finished.

Yeah, we drove by on Christmas day and were surprised at how far along the construction is. They aren't messing around, but since that area is literally a retail wasteland, they will probably do VERY well there. We live in the immediate area and the small convenience store at NW 178th & Penn doesn't have a good reputation. Bad service and more than a few reports of card skimming, so we never go there. Plus, they seem to only be open banker's hours.
Casey's just filed permits for a new location on the NW corner of NW 122nd and Western.
Zuplar 12-31-2021, 08:02 AM Casey's really has cleaned up a lot of eye sores around the city. Hope they keep up with the maintenance. Our C-store game has really stepped up in the past few years.
ChowRunner 01-10-2022, 07:40 AM The Circle Casey's at Reno/Mustang Closed last week for a full remodel- Rumor has it that it will be getting as kitchen. Not sure if any others are currently being upgraded as well, but it will be interesting to see what it looks like after the renovations.
Interestingly, even the Good Stop locations (Casey's sub-brand) are getting the full renovation treatment.
I believe they use the Good Stop name for an old Circle K that is smaller and/or particularly close to another Casey's location.
The Good Stop on the NE corner of NW 63rd and Broadway Extension is getting a full redo -- although within the existing walls -- including a kitchen.
There are 17 Good Stops, all in Oklahoma:

Makes sense. That is one of the old-school Texaco (later Shell, then other brands) locations that is not much more than an expanded attendant kiosk. No way it could be expanded to resemble a full-sized Casey’s like the ones they are placing in the old purpose-built Conocos and Circle K locations. And it has a Casey’s right across the highway to the west (though that one doesn’t exactly fit in with most of the Casey’s conversions, either).
It is interesting to watch this company come in and re-work the hodgepodge of locations they inherited in the buyout. So far their decisions appear to be pretty reasonable and sound from a business perspective.
^^^^ Perhaps, in these smaller spaces, model into a coffee place. Coffee and breakfast items, to go, with a drive through.
Casey's Coffee, anyone? I know there is Scooters and Dutch and others, but Casey's Coffee has a nice ring to it.
I like it.

Mmmmmmaybe...... I know they just spent a chunk of change converting all their stores to bean to cup coffee.

Their bean to coffee is actually pretty good. I don't generally go to Caseys in OKC as my experiences in the past were the employees were not friendly or motivated to help customers. They also did not enforce masks for employees or customers when they had the mandatory mask requirement. I am glad to see they are cleaning up a bunch of the old Circle Ks. I have property in Nowata and go to that Caseys and the employees are helpful and friendly.
I noticed the Casey's on the NW corner of 39th & May is now under full renovation and is closed for the time being.
Given all the filed building permits for the other old Circle K locations, we should start seeing many more of these closures and major construction.
Urbanized 02-07-2022, 09:01 PM I’ve noticed they’ve dropped a job site container box at NW 23rd and Western, so I’m guessing that one will be underway very soon.

And now QuikTrip.
Oklahoma City may in fact have the best convenience stores in the USA.
Casey's has been my go-to gas station since they built one in Yukon. Their rewards program is unrivaled. At one time I had ten dollars of rewards at Casey's. That's half a tank of gas for me.
kamakaz7 02-28-2022, 05:43 AM Heard from the employees at the 29th and Douglas store they are shutting down on 3/7 to remodel.
baralheia 02-28-2022, 09:25 AM I-240 and Walker is shut down for remodel, and they've completely gutted the interior. It'll be a whole new store when they're done with it.
Silvershoes 03-01-2022, 09:02 AM Same thing happening at Santa Fe & Edmond Road (2nd Street).........Shut down currently for full re-model. I was in this store back in Nov/Dec timeframe and the clerk said this was going to happen after the first of year. Most are getting hot dog, burrito staging centers similar to what you see in On Cue and Q-Trip.
Does anyone know what is going in at the NW corner of Santa Fe & 33rd Street ? I can't imagine it being anything but a C-Store. A couple days ago they had what looked like a huge gasoline container on the corner that is now buried. No signage though on the corner yet........

I could be wrong, but I thought I saw a while back that it was going to be an Okie Car Wash.

I believe that is going in beside the Casey's.
There is all of a sudden, a ton of options for gas on that part of town. New 7-11 going in on Memorial and Broadway extension also.
Elrenogolf 04-10-2022, 04:54 PM Casey's is getting increasingly agressive.
Just filed plans to demo the strip center / Conoco / car wash place on the SW corner of Bryant and Memorial and build completely new.
With the Circle K acquisition and their new stores, they will soon have 50 locations in the OKC area. That's about equal to OnCue.

According to chatter on Nextdoor, the last day for the gas station to be open is April 16th. Is Casey’s still planning on leveling everything and building new?

Yes, as far as I know.
They have a pending building permit for the plans you quoted.
scottk 04-10-2022, 05:49 PM The Casey's store on 192nd and Penn is now open.
This from the ground up location sells 88 Octane Ethanol, which is the first place in OKC I have seen it. Apparently it is 15% Ethanol, compared to most stations that are 87 Octane 10% Ethanol, they have stickers saying it is safe for cars made after 2001.
*Not to be confused with E-85, which is for FlexFuel vehicles.

They are doing this to the one in Moore, on SE 4th St & Eastern. They have completely demolished it.

I've been in twice.
The taco pizza was pretty good. They use a good blend of salsa & refried beans, in place of sauce. The online ordering system wasn't working, so I had to pay at the front counter. I think the system was just down.
The store, on both trips, was about 85 degrees, so the AC either isn't working or maybe it's just not quite finished yet.
The two items I bought from the "Fresh" pastry case were anything but Fresh. More like they had been there since the opening day. They would have been really good, had they been fresh.
Overall, I wasn't too impressed, but I realize it was days two and three and there will be growing pains. The pizza was good enough to be a frequent customer and I really want to try the breakfast pizza.
kukblue1 04-10-2022, 07:38 PM Last week the one on 39th and penn had everything pretty much half off. Drinks and Beer. Something about getting rid of stuff making room for the Kitchen. Not sure why they wouldn't just send it too another store though?
MagzOK 04-11-2022, 08:49 AM Casey's gasoline is not listed as a 'top tier' petroleum product, for those interested in what goes in their tanks.

Yes, compared to Circle K, Casey's is definitely an upgrade on the C-store side of things, but a huge downgrade on fuel - all grades of Shell gasoline that Circle K was dispensing was top tier. Casey's doesn't offer top-tier fuels at all. It's kind of frustrating, as there are now FAR fewer Shell stations in the metro.

That's why we only get gas at OnCue, always top tier Phillips 66 gas. Plus you usually get 10c off with the app, or 25c off right now with the Phillips 66 credit card through the app.
bombermwc 04-11-2022, 08:02 PM They seem to be making the rounds now with the stores the just slapped a new sign on before. Several of them have been closed and have been getting gutted. There's a store on 29th/Douglas in MWC that wasn't in bad shape at all, but with OnCue across the street, they had to fork over the dollars to spruce the place up (which i think was only about 15 years old?).
^
They are basically completely remodeling and adding kitchens to all the old Circle K locations.
The Casey's at 39th & May has reopened after a complete remodel.
Huge improvement over the old Circle K.
Just as 39th & May opened, the location at 36th & Penn started its massive redo.
It's mind-boggling how much OnCue, 7-11, QT, and Casey's have spent in this market in just the last several years. Plus you have some smaller chains like Domino and E-Express spending millions as well.
corwin1968 04-24-2022, 02:24 PM We finally tried the breakfast pizza (gravy as sauce with sausage) and it lived up to it's reputation. We were both starving when we ate it, but I'm confident that even from a more objective perspective, it was excellent.
I also re-visited the "fresh donuts" case and had a much better experience than last time. Very good fritter and filled donut.
I think they are still struggling to find employees and are limiting their deli services for that reason. The sign on the counter was advertising full and part-time donut makers, starting at $13/hr.

I'm walking distance from a Casey's and every morning is a struggle on whether to eat something healthy or have Casey's breakfast pizza.
baralheia 04-25-2022, 10:38 AM Construction appears to have wrapped up at I-240 and Walker, and from what I could see from the highway, it looks like they've begun to stock product in the store. Shouldn't be too much longer before they're open again, I'd wager.
BoulderSooner 04-25-2022, 10:47 AM construction is also almost done at the Casey's at Douglas and 29th

When you only pay $13 an hour in 2022 don't be surprised when you have trouble finding people to work for you.
The completely remodeled Casey's at Reno & Lincoln near Bricktown has reopened.
Bits_Of_Real_Panther 05-03-2022, 12:56 PM Stopped for petrol at nw 23 and Western the other day. Clerk said it reopened end of April, although a couple containers are still present.

I-240 & Walker reopened for business earlier this week.
Elrenogolf 05-15-2022, 07:43 PM The Casey’s at I-35 and 15th in Edmond is back open. They didn’t do much to the outside but the inside is very nice, just like their new builds. Looks like they put the bathrooms in the now bricked up car wash.
PaddyShack 05-16-2022, 03:28 PM Same story for the Circle-Ks in Yukon, first was just rebranding and selling off the product, then they razed the location at Vandament & Cornwell, the location at 66 & Yukon Pkwy is now good stop and the one at Mustang & Reno looks to have wrapped up their remodel.
We like their food and c-store goods, however I will never put their gas in any of our vehicles.
The Casey's at NW 39th & Penn has reopened.
bombermwc 07-13-2022, 04:17 PM Anyone been in there yet? Curious how it compares. They dont' seem to be in any major hurry. The weirdly shaped on near me in Moore has been moving as a snail's pace.

For the preparation of raw ingredients into food for consumption.

Probably a great location...not a lot out there.
I went into the remodeled Casey's and it is a huge improvement but I do not see lottery tickets anywhere in the store?
bombermwc 08-29-2022, 08:12 AM They seem to be on phase/cycle 2 now. The stores that were chosen first to remodel, seem to be mostly opened up and they're working on the next round. It definitely is night and day, and the signage is more like what i said i thought it would be with the whole barn thing. Lot's of the Good Stop locations are the targets now.
sgt. pepper 08-29-2022, 09:04 AM Casey's is doing a remodel in Guthrie.
MagzOK 08-29-2022, 09:19 AM I've been getting their E85 for my suburban and it's fantastic. It has been running nearly an entire dollar cheaper than a gallon of gas for the longest time. OnCue has it for just cents cheaper than their gas as to where it's not worth it in terms of the gas mileage lost compared to their regular gas, but at $2.44/g it's awesome.
scottk 08-29-2022, 05:59 PM I noticed Casey's is also running their Unleaded 88, which is pretty much for any vehicle that is not on FlexFuel, about 15 to 30 cents cheaper than neighboring gas stations 10% ethanol unleaded 87.
bombermwc 08-30-2022, 07:48 AM i guess it depends on where you are. In Moore on Eastern, the recently remodeled Casey's is always a few cents more than the crappy old 711 across the street. And just this week, all of their pumps went down.
