Petroleum Club to open new downtown deli (http://www.okctalk.com/content.php?r=560-Petroleum-Club-to-open-new-downtown-deli)
Plans have been submitted for the Petroleum Club to construct a new deli and take all 3,561 square feet of retail space in the north parking garage at BOK Park Plaza.

The office complex opened in late 2017 and to date has but a single tenant. Bank of Oklahoma occupies the top four office floors and also has a bank branch in the lobby facing Sheridan.
Enable Midstream has announced they will be moving its 480 employees from Leadership Square to BOK Park Plaza in August 2019, taking the 15th through 20th floors.
When Enable completes its move, 10 of the building's 27 floors will be occupied.
In addition to its signature private club and event space on the top two floors of BancFirst Tower (formerly Cotter Ranch Tower, Chase Tower and Liberty Tower), the Petroleum Club is the properitor of Petro Deli in that building's lobby and Hot Tamale Grill in the lower level.
The group also operates Petroleum Club North in Edmond and the Petroleum Club Event Center north of the state capitol which was formerly known as the Jim Thorpe Event Center.
The new deli will be located in the ground floor of the BOK north garage, which has an entrance on the corner of Main and Hudson, and faces the city-owned Arts District Parking Garage.

The BOK building and parking garage are connected to the Devon Energy Center via a skywalk over Hudson.
Plans show a large bar, 2 corner booths and seating looking out on Main Street.

In design plans submitted to the city for a substantial remodel of what is now BancFirst Plaza, it was stated the existing Petro Deli would be relocated from the west lobby to the northeast corner. Renderings show indoor and outdoor seating for the restaurant in that location.
BOK Park Plaza still has a large restaurant space with an outdoor terrace on the 2nd level of the lobby, plus additional retail space in the northeast lobby as well as in the west garage, with storefronts facing Sheridan.

brian72 12-20-2018, 07:25 AM Can't beat Petroleum Deli. One of the best around, and can't wait till its open.
PaddyShack 12-20-2018, 09:18 AM This is where my wife and I like to park whenever going around downtown, I like the area due to the relatively low traffic at night and on weekends. What are the current hours for the Deli? Will they be expanding hours in this new location?
shawnw 12-20-2018, 04:52 PM I hope they have dinner hours. Glad this retail space is getting used.
kukblue1 12-20-2018, 05:14 PM Kind of hope they do too. Tired of going to bricktown before Thunder games, or any events downtown, especially since i park over that way
HOT ROD 12-20-2018, 09:59 PM this is a good get and will add some much needed activity to main street.
BTW, the Petroleum Club is in the top-3 floors of BancFirst Tower (34, 35, 36).
This is the inside of that space.
Narrow but very tall ceilings.

shawnw 12-23-2018, 12:39 PM shows that the devon retail spaces could be useful (even if one entity used all the spaces) for minimal sacrifice of parking. i'm under the impression that garage isn't at capacity anymore because devon employee count is down? if so would be a good time to make such a move, especially being on the streetcar line...

There are no Devon retail spaces. They don’t exist
ShadowStrings 12-26-2018, 11:02 AM There are no Devon retail spaces. They don’t exist
But the garage is designed so that the retail spaces could easily be built out.
BoulderSooner 12-26-2018, 11:10 AM Not really
Rover 12-26-2018, 12:05 PM Not really
Why do you say that?
shawnw 12-26-2018, 12:28 PM I get that the devon "retail spaces" are just facades and there is nothing built out. I'm saying that with garage usage lower than it once was there (this is based on an employee I know saying it used to be more of a challenge to park in that garage but their employee count isn't what it was), that this would be the prime time (vs when devon is booming EE count wise, if that's even possible any more going forward with efficiencies in place) to go ahead and build out those spaces (whether as multiple spaces or just one). It would be a benefit to those in BOK Park Plaza as well as those in Devon and Hightower, not to mention general street life.
aintaokie 06-11-2019, 01:21 PM Looks like the work is coming along quickly. Inside walls are going up, plumbing & electrical appear to be in place. They are working on the project daily. We're looking forward to another lunch option beside Nebu at Devon.
OkiePoke 07-11-2019, 10:42 AM Any update on when they plan to open?
Any update on when they plan to open?
I peaked in last weekend and they still have a lot of work to do.
Looks like they are almost ready to open:

OkiePoke 10-04-2019, 08:50 AM Pete, do you know if Hot Tamale is opening a restaurant in/near BOK?

My understanding is that this new spot will have items from both the deli and Hot Tamale menus.

Does this mean Hot Tamale is moving? Or will they keep their original location?

I have heard they are not moving, but expanding.

The location in the concourse is currently closed and probably will stay closed for duration of tower renovations.
The location is already emptied out
I took this Wednesday of the BancFirst underground location:

Food in the CBD in a nutshell. Save for a handful of locations.
Roger S 11-01-2019, 11:09 AM Nice.... Happy to see a restaurant I can easily stay keto at within my walking radius for lunch.
BBatesokc 11-06-2019, 08:44 AM Wow, IMO, you gotta be a pretty popular restaurant and have your costs totally on point to make money on those limited hours and pay all your overhead.

Wonder if they got a sweetheart rent deal?
Wonder if they got a sweetheart rent deal?
Very likely.
Two years on, the rest of all that retail space is completely vacant.
BBatesokc 11-06-2019, 06:05 PM A few of us from the office picked up a togo order here today.
Really like the buildout. Very nice, open, lots of light and I love the look for the location. Was pretty busy too and we got there before noon.
We didn't order from the deli side, we got Hot Tamale Items; Poblano Ranch Burger, Caesar Chavez Salad and a chicken quesadilla.
We ordered at the counter (don't know if you can call in ahead or not). Staff was very friendly and menu knowledgable. Given a number and waited in a small togo seating area. Only took about 5 minutes to get our food and it was boxed and bagged nicely for walking back to our office.
I had the burger with a side of fries.
Burger is really big at 1/2 lb. The top bun is larger and denser than I like, but still tasty. However I removed it as it was just too much food. Temperature was good even after a five minute walk and the meat seemed really fresh, as did the topping. The fries were a huge hit. and mean HUGE - they are giant steak fries and were made crispy, EXACTLY how I like them. I could go back for the fries alone.
I was told the salad and quesadilla were very good too. The presentation looked great and the portions were very nice for the price.
Each togo entree also came with a small bag of chips and salsa.
I guess I'm picky about salsa, because I rarely like salsa offerings unless they are traditional. Their's is a roasted variety and had a weird watery roasted flavor. None of us liked it.
Definitely will be back and I find their prices a bit cheaper than Nabu, so they may get more of the business I normally gave them.
One thing we noticed when we got back to the office is there was no silverware or napkins in the bag they gave us. Not sure if they forgot, if you have to ask or if they are in a self-service area. Luckily we have a break room with all those things

I don’t know about hot tamale but the petroleum deli has always been self serve on silverware.
BridgeBurner 11-14-2019, 01:29 PM Man, I miss working downtown. I got the cesar chavez salad probably three times a week!
Roger S 11-15-2019, 01:12 PM Walked down for lunch today and tried the Low Carb Plate.... For $8.25 it's quite a bit of food with two 4oz burger patties, 1/2 an avocado, shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, and grilled onions and jalapenos.... Everything tasted great too.It definitely fits my keto lifestyle and will be my go to spot when I don't have time to meal prep and still want to get some steps in at lunch instead of having to drive somewhere.
