This BBQ shop opened last week at 119th & Western in the old Billy Sims place. It is a big improvement IMO. I had the Big Boi sandwich which is a breaded chicken breast with jerk sauce, cole slaw and french fries. It was delicious. I also sample the slice brisket and was very impressed. Will be going back soon.

I imagine it's apple and oranges, but I'll ask anyway. Have you tried deckle smokehouse? It's a few streets away from this one.

i happened to check this place out today and enjoyed it. not the absolute best bbq in the city but definitely decent. i ordered the three meat combo with ribs, smoked sausage, and sliced brisket. the ribs were the best of the three... they were tender but not falling off the bone and had decent flavor. smoked sausage had good flavor and it didn't seem like the typical sausage served at most places. however, I thought it was a bit overcooked as it was a too soft in texture. brisket wasn't bad but probably the weakest of the three. it was tender enough but didn't really have much smoked flavor. I had okra for my side and it was your standard frozen okra, good but not standout... at least they fried it fresh for me. they gave me a pretty hefty portion of it and I think i'd prefer about half of that and then get the choice of another side. i'd like to go back and try some of their jerk options.

all in all, it's a solid place in my opinion... not among the best, but solid. waaaay better than the billy sims it replaced and better than dale's which is just across western.

Ah. I missed the bit where it's on the south bit instead of the north. That's on me.

Well at one time they were working on a north side location (forget the original address). Don't know the reasons but they pulled out of that location, after doing quite a bit of work on it, without ever opening.

Cornish Smokehouse is blowin up ......... selling out regularly.

I ate there a couple weeks ago and I give it a big thumbs up ,,,,,,,,,,,,, and don't over look the turkey. My wife and I each got a two meat meal, we tried the brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and turkey. Everything was really good but I thought the turkey was the best meat.

Went here for lunch yesterday and got the hot wings with the jerk sauce. Right up there with Tez Wings and Chick N Beer for the best wings in the city, IMO. I'll have to come back another time for the BBQ.

Try Wing Supreme on Lincoln. Hands down my favorite.

Just heard this. Horrible news. The owners are good people. I hope they get back on their feet soon.

They can probably salvage the smoker, just have to rebuild the cookshack.

But their trailer may be done.

Loss of sales why they're down though, will hurt, unless insurance covers it .

Oh no! I really like their smoked wings. Hope they're able to get things back up and running soon.

The lost their smokehouse, smoker & food truck which is pretty devastating. They've set up a gofundme if you are willing to donate. They are great people and the food/service they provide our city is outstanding. It would be a shame if they had to close over this.

Will re-open Friday, Oct 4 .

Pic of new smoker at IG site, it appears to be an over/under with a rotisserie, judging by the number of stacks across the back.
