Drove by the former Wendy's location along I-240 yesterday. New sign up for Sam's Southern Eatery. Looks like they have several locations. Any reviews?

Tons of food and it's cheap.

I've been to the one on 23rd. I like the catfish but and the portion was comically large.

Is this place open? I drove by it but I can’t find it open on a map for the Southside location. I’ll probably try this location tonight if they are open.

they're open... i think it's every bit as good as the 23rd street location.

Haven’t been to the 23rd st location but I went and ate with my family at this one and it was amazing!

I've been to the Norman location. Don't waste your time. Off the Hook and Brielle's Bistro blow it out of the water.

Eh I shouldn’t have used the term amazing but I really enjoyed it. I would recommend it!

23rd St. location had plastic all over its windows and workers outside when we went by on Friday, not sure if they're remodeling or closed and getting ready for a new tenant.

That location was removed from the Sam's website some time ago.

I think it's a goner.

They are getting a new location ready to open along NW HWY/Expressway. It's next door to the OnCue between MacArthur & Rockwell, where Wilshire branches off to the west. Right by the Lyrewood Lane area. It's in the new-ish small strip mall, which hosts a BBQ place and a gun store. Sams will be on the East end of the strip mall.

I noticed it about a month ago. It appears to be a very small place.

Yes, they are working on the east unit.

That far east unit was a bagel place not long ago but by the pic its closed. I wonder if this new place takes both east end units or just one?

Wow I remember when there was a church in this shopping center (there have been two churches in the shopping center, actually). Times have changed.

^^^^^ Hey Pete, Help, I can't figure out how to rotate the pic. Can you fix it? Thanks

It's open and operating.

I was driving down NW HWY/Expressway awhile ago and noticed cars in front and the OPEN sign on.

I'd already eaten so I didn't go in. I may try it tomorrow.

I'm hankering for a fried catfish dinner. And tomorrow is Friday.

^^^ That reminds me, the 23rd St. location is open again with a new paint job and possibly new windows.

sam's on i-240 was one of the first places we went for takeout after the covid situation had just hit and businesses were only starting to get things figured out... i remember that they were super cool and extremely thankful that we gave them our business.
