View Full Version : 417 Dean McGee
This is a cool little project that will take a strange little parking garage, restore it, and turn it into offices.
Rendering provided.

Ross MacLochness 05-23-2018, 08:53 AM Very Cool!! That area has so much potential its crazy... potential that's hidden beneath evergreens and tinted windows ensconced among faux Romanesque columns...

This place is a popular hideout for transients. I have noticed many are being displaced from their spots due to all the construction and renovation downtown. Mostly noted by the destruction of the Cottonseed Mill.
Used to park there. That place is a serious pain in the ass to maneuver in when you've got a big truck. Glad to see they're doing something with the building.
Urbanized 05-23-2018, 10:20 AM Ah man! One of the last downtown buildings on my "someday I'm going to get rich, buy and renovate this hidden gem" list that I've been keeping in my head for the past 25 years or so.

I used to park in the Hudson garage next to the old black hotel. I drove an F250 and had to rent two reserved spots on the first floor and park across them as I couldn't get me truck in straight due to lack of room. There was no way possible to get to the upper floors in my truck

I literally office next door (to the east) and saw this banner going up as I got to work....

I believe the plan was always to renovate and lease it out.
They are just advertising for tenants.

Wow, they've got a long way to go before anyone can move in there.

They may need to get a tenant before spending a ton of money on work.

Glad to hear it's still a go. Would love to see something other than a vacant run down structure next door. Gonna be jealous of the patio.
Filed with the DDRC today to demolish the ramp, so looks like things are moving forward.
BBatesokc 08-23-2018, 06:51 AM Looks like construction (or at least demolition) started this week.... been listening to this for the last couple of days.... Can't wait to see it finished.

PaddyShack 01-02-2019, 09:19 AM That building already looks much better!! Haha.
Building is now for sale at $2.8 million.
They never finished the renovation that was originally proposed; did not replace the storefront or add the balcony to the east.
