Has there been a chance where Latest Posts pulls in political posts?

I noticed that starting earlier today. Now I click on 'new posts' instead, it still works as expected.

When I click on the Latest Posts tab at the top of every page, it excludes the politics forum.

We made that change years ago by request.

Understood. What I believe d-usa is reporting and I am confirming is, at least yesterday, it wasn't working as designed. It seems to be functioning properly today.

We are doing some upgrades and fixes and there will be the occasional glitch.

Yeah,when I click on latest posts under Search I get;

; Type: Posts; New Posts

Unfortunately it only looked like it was working earlier because there were no new posts in politics at the time.

Can confirm, I am definitely seeing politics posts in Latest Posts now.

Still happening here as well. Is there an ETA on the completion of the upgrades?

Try clearing your cookies / browser history.

I am not seeing Politics posts when I use Latest Posts button but do see them if I use "New Posts" link.

I did clear cookies and history and I’m also seeing politics when I hit the latest posts button. Has been happening past 3-4 days. Not sure about new posts but don’t really want to use that as it is not sticky/fixed position like the latest posts button. Much more difficult to use when trying to quickly knock out all of the new replies like I try to do at least once or twice per day.

Click on this link and tell me if you still see posts from the Politics section:

Haha I’ll have to do it later today because I’ve now cleared all new posts. My browser has a happy plate.

It's still showing politics.

I am seeing the exact opposite, clearing cookies/cache did nothing (it's no longer the universal fix people thought it once was, but it does still help in certain cases). Latest posts shows politics, new posts does not.

I'll be the outlier and say my latest posts button is working exactly as designed.

I'm seeing politics included in latest posts (where I did not previously).

Some of you really like to argue about politics!

I see them also, but I found a good solution. I just don't click on the ones I don't want to read.

That's the entire point of them not being displayed by the latest posts button.

I don't really read them and don't click on them. But they do take up spots on the latest post list, which causes all the threads I actually like to read down the page and makes them harder to find.

That's why I like it when they are filtered out. Not because they offend my me or anything like that, it just makes it easier to see the threads I actually care about. Less junk on the page.

I just tried th link, and immediately found the Russia thread from the Politics section high in the returned list. Today is the first day I've seen Politics threads in the search results, but my attendance here has been a bit sporadic all week...

at least for me... "new posts" does not include politics (it used to) and now "latest posts" does include politics. i think this used to work the opposite.

lol... i was wondering why there haven't been any political posts for me to wade through in the last few days.

When I click "Latest Posts" on a laptop/desktop, I don't see the political posts. However, clicking the same link on the mobile version shows them all. I wish they could be excluded on both.

I see all the political posts. Please make them stop. One or two people now controlling what is shown and said. Ugh. It obscures why I come to this site in the first place.

have you all tried clicking on 'new posts' in the row underneath 'latest posts'? that link doesn't display politics posts on at of the computers that I access the site from.

That's what I have to do now. Every so often I click Latest Posts out of habit, and can confirm the political posts still show up via that method.

Yes, but that is not optimal since latest posts is in the fixed menu that stays at the top of the page when scrolling and new posts does not. So I just click on political posts and jump right back out, just to make them go away.

We'll get it fixed but the problem has me stumped.

We just did a big software upgrade and there are a bunch of little glitches.
