View Full Version : Captain's (formerly Chalk)
Lafferty Daniel 01-22-2025, 09:26 AM Per Greg Horton Chalk is closed permanently.
That's disappointing. From a sports bar perspective, this was my favorite because it seemed like every surface of the walls was covered with a tv.
The owners made a massive investment.
Hate to see Chalk not work out.
Thus far, any vacancy at Chisholm Creek has filled pretty quickly so hopefully another operator can come in. It's a fantastic space and has a nice 2nd level deck with a bar.

The weather would be great outside and we would try to go for cocktails and a bite to eat, but the deck would be closed at the time.
Great layout, though, and it would make a great location for Louie's or The Garage.

Any word on what’s going on where Chicken Foot was?

I just looked and that property is still listed as for lease.
Richard at Remax 01-22-2025, 11:31 AM The rumor when it was built is that it was laid out for a sport betting type environment. Some of the video panels around the restaurant were set up to show live odds and such. I think they thought the state would pass online betting by now and just hasn't materialized yet.

I never used this feature but I believe it was unique in OKC:
they also plan a truly interactive experience where a cell phone app will immediately recognize guests as they enter and provide functionality such as directing them to the proper screens to view their fantasy players
They also claimed to have spent over $1 million on their A/V setup.

I don't think that feature was ever activated ..

Does that area need a BWW? It would make the most sense from a sports bar side of things...

Eddie's just opened that huge space very nearby in the old Republic/Bandee's space.
Wings are a big part of their marketing.
My understanding is they are close to selling to a new operator.
Should have more details in a couple of weeks.

Eddie's has also been fairly busy every time I've gone. I do think a truly good, well-run sports bar in Chisolm Creek would crush it. We are always looking for places not named Twin Peaks up there to go to, aside from Pub W.
ManAboutTown 01-23-2025, 11:57 AM Having the new apartments in Chisholm Creek fully leased would definitely increase business for the proprietors in that area.
Captain’s, a Kansas City-based group of sports bars, has struck a deal for the old Chalk space in Chisholm Creek at 1326 W. Memorial.

Hiring is underway and they hope to open within 30 days.
Chalk opened in 2019 with a hugely ambitious, large space with a hundred screens for watching multiple games simultaneously. The building also features a large 2nd level outdoor bar and deck. Chalk closed earlier this year.
The OKC location will be the fifth for Captain’s which features wings with many sauce options, pizza, salads, sandwiches, burgers, sides, and a full bar with many beers on tap.

soonergolfer 02-23-2025, 09:23 AM Sounds like they are high tailing it in order to open by the start of March Madness. That’s a tall order.

It is already on their website as a location. Looks like you are right.
PhiAlpha 02-23-2025, 02:31 PM Didn’t even realize Chalk closed.
Bowser214 02-24-2025, 12:47 PM Ok I’m confused. Chisholm Creek just posted this on FB.
19500Get ready for an exciting new spot to dine, sip, and soak in waterfront views at The Pointe! A new concept is coming soon... Is it going to be Captain’s or The Point?

The Pointe is the development around the pond there.
