Does anyone know what is going on at the long-shuttered appliance store at NW 30th and May? All of the concrete/asphalt parking lot has been taken up and there are new concrete molds and workers doing some surveying. The building looks to be untouched.

County assessor records show that the building is still owned by the family the store is named after; no sales transactions show up at all. OKC's permit system does show a permit for a new parking lot, including new bollards, cable fence, and gate, presumably to secure the lot. My first thought is they're trying to prevent unauthorized people from parking there? It's apparently still used for something, even if that something may just be storage... Satellite imagery shows a new roof was installed in 2013. Google Maps Street View from August of 2017 shows the front door of the building propped open with a sawhorse and what appear to be paint cans, and a pickup parked out front... Aside from that though, I've got nothing.

Thanks for all of this info. Not terribly exciting, but good to know!

The new parking lot does look better. The building still seems like a waste. They were working on the inside last summer, and even took the plywood off the windows for a few days.

County Assessor data hasn't been updated since October due to a new system conversion that should be completed within the next couple of weeks.
