View Full Version : Local Jewelers
king183 11-06-2017, 07:31 PM Hi, all. I'll very soon be in the market for an engagement ring and wanted to see if people here have recommendations and experiences with local jewelers. I've considered buying online, but I'd prefer to keep my money local and not at a place like Jared, Kay, Zales, etc. I've been into BC Clark and was impressed with service, but wanted to shop on price. If anyone can share their experiences, I'd appreciate it.
stile99 11-06-2017, 07:43 PM So you were impressed by BC Clark, like their service, but need a bit lower on price.
How soon is very soon? Because in 17 days, there's a rumor they're going to have some sort of sale. Most sales are after Christmas, but Clark's is just before. Most everything is marked way down, savings you can't ignore.
So unless you're popping the question between the main event and the pie, problem solved.
Bellaboo 11-06-2017, 08:02 PM Israel Diamonds in Tulsa if that's local enough. Take the drive to Tulsa and you won't regret it.
If nothing else, go online, they have thousands in stock and can select for comparative prices. My son came from Phoenix and got his shipped (without tax) and his friend from Dallas did the same. The guy from Dallas said it was a 30 % savings from the Dallas stores and he ended up with higher quality. And he spent around 20,000 for his ring.

Haha...great point. To clarify, I don't need a lower price. I actually thought they were okay on price, but that's only because I had no point of comparison--only what I had made up in my head--so I wanted to check around. It seems they are about in line with other locations, maybe slightly pricier, but I didn't get a chance to visit other local jewelers yet.
TheTravellers 11-07-2017, 03:18 PM Not sure about engagement rings, but Mitchener Farrand on Wilshire/May did a fantastic job reworking my wedding ring into a square ring with a hammered finish after BC Clark in North Park screwed it up. Wife always had a decent experience at the downtown BC Clark, but again, she wasn't shopping for engagement rings...
FighttheGoodFight 11-07-2017, 04:06 PM Lewis Jewelers and as Travellers recommended Mitchener/Farrand is very good as well. I ended up purchasing at BC Clarks for the style my wife wanted.

Oh we so need to bring back the like button. Best comment I have seen on OKCTalk in awhile. Well done!
