I believe Pete talked about The Porch for a while but this is the first shot of it.

I interviewed one of the owners but I believe this project has evolved since.

I'll find out the details and post them soon.

The Porch will be at 311 W Boyd on Campus Corner. Ryan Broyles will be one of the investors. Their press release said they were planning on adding a second story to the building. Looks interesting.

My good friend is one of the partners along with Ryan Broyles. They will be adding a second floor and rooftop patio to the exiting building.

I was given a chance to brand them, but they went with another artist. However, it looks like I might be doing their apparel.

The Porch is having a sidewalk tailgate during the first OU game this weekend.

Porch is looking to be a very cool place.

You look at the porch, volare, and the new 6 story building getting ready to happen and you have to wonder which property will go vertical next.

People are finally figuring out that this is such a great spot that deserves more density.

And for the muti-level stuff, you get a view of the north side of campus which is beautiful.

Talked with the owner's on Saturday and got a quick tour. They said they are roughly six weeks away from opening their doors.

Obviously a lot has changed since my last post...

I talked to the same owner today and they told me furniture is finally going in. They hope to be open by March 1st.

Just barely missed the start of the 2017 football season. :)

Toured it a month ago. This will be a big hit. Lots of outdoor patio space on the second and third levels.

They are verrrry close to opening.

So, did is this place ever open and if so how good is it?

Yes, it has been open for a couple of weeks and have not been but heard it's already quite the spot for OU students.

I went about a month ago. I went upstairs and loved the area, but I was very disappointed in the drinks. I had one of their vodka based signature cocktails and my friend had a gin and tonic. They were very weak. We both ordered a shot and added them to our drinks and still couldn't taste any alcohol. I'll be glad to return, but not until they've fixed their drinks.

Haven't gone yet. Most people have said the service isn't great and aren't impressed by the drinks. Hope they can get that figured out. Campus Corner places dont last if they dont get that right!

Thanks for the info all. After reading YELP and the comments here I believe I will hold off for awhile.

Last night my daughter treated and took me there. Earlier in the week she had gone and liked it. I had the Dagwood sandwich which consisted of ham, pastrami and turkey with melted cheese. The bread was toasted and ok. I also had a mixed side of French fries and sweet potato fries. The sandwiches come with a choice of several sides. The sandwich was good as were the French fries. The sweet potato fries however were over cooked and not very good. The porch sauce was a good condiment for the fries. I did have a F5 on tap that was a welcome beverage. We ate upstairs, indoors and had a nice view of the campus. As usual with many places opening these days the dining room did not provide any sound deadening and the surfaces were all hard. Kind of "echoey". Service was not an issue and most tables were occupied. The place was good but I would like to see the menu expanded beyond what is offered now, which is primarily sandwiches.
