Does anyone know why there were several hundred motorcycles headed east-bound on Reno today around noon? Police had stopped traffic from all north-south intersections, and the number of cycles seemed to go on forever. They were followed by a number of Jeeps, many with flags flying. Didn't see anything in the paper about a special event. Anyone have any idea what was happening? Thanks!

I was stuck in the traffic shutdown waiting for them come down Rockwell and turn on Reno. The best I can figure out is it is Ride to Remember, fundraising for the bombing memorial. I've been stuck in it before. Annoying, no matter the end result.

Aha! That's exactly what it was! Thank you for the information. Could not believe the number of bikes! Good cause, but bad for anyone else wanting to travel--especially since I-44 was a parking lot!

I saw a group in Edmond on old 66 flying Aussie flags. I think they were part of a group riding US66. I know in some areas of the world its a dream to ride old 66 on a bike. I met a couple a few years ago on their return flight to europe that had planned on doing that in a few years. Europeans just cannot seem to fathom how large the US is and love to come see and experience that.
