While we're always talking about hotels, housing, future high rises, parks, and other development, one thing that's rarely talked about is industrial development. Am I the only one who would like to see much more industrial development, be it distribution and especially manufacturing? I personally wish we had an industrial park like MidAmerica Industrial Park like up near Tulsa.

There is a bunch of industrial development going on along 77 between Noble and Lexington. I have seen at least 10 big shed/barn like structures going up in the last year. I think a lot of them supports the oil and gas industries.

Most of this is really in the west OKC area (Western Heights). And it's traditionally been there too. When Lucent and Firestone closed, we lost a HUGE workforce and it's taken quite a long time for it to recover, but it's really started to fill in around there with the industrial/warehouse type stuff. It's not sexy to look at by any means, but it's out there. Most of it can't be seen right from the high way unless you know what to look for. Although even some large stuff has gone in around airport rd (and is going in now).
