sharra75 01-17-2008, 07:11 AM Hello all, I'm Susan.
Found this site while looking for Aaron Tuttle. I see he's part of this group.
I currently live in Edmond, but have lived in OKC for several years.
Working mother of 2 girls, and going to school full time. I love anything to do with graphics.
Anything else you would like to know, just ask.
Hope to have fun getting to know you.
Patrick 01-22-2008, 04:55 PM Hi everyone!
Doug Loudenback 01-22-2008, 06:01 PM Hello, to you! Are you the "old" Patrick or a brand new one? :)
Patrick 01-22-2008, 09:28 PM Hey Doug, I'm the old one. Pete and Hot Rod talked me into re-registering. And of course, I see ole jbrown84 at church all the time, and I know he was wanting to see me come back! I'm a pretty busy man though these days, so I probably won't be as active as I used to be. :) I'll mostly just stay in the OKC Metro Area Talk forum, since that's where my main interest lies!
It has been fund reading the posts every now and then as a non-member. But, I figured I should at least re-register, even if I'm just going to read.
Guess I should give a little intro here:
4th year medical student at OUHSC. Graduate in May (finally!!!) with the MD. Then I'll be starting a residency in psychiatry in July, which will last 4 years.....still deciding on where I'm going to do that....will be OKC, Tulsa, or Wichita. Other than that, I stay pretty busy with my patients and rotations. Still as interested in OKC as ever. Can't wait to vote YES for the Ford Center on March 4th, and hopefully see the Sonics (or Hornets) come to town! Guess that's all for now.
Doug Loudenback 01-23-2008, 05:51 AM Very good news, Patrick.
jbrown84 01-23-2008, 09:01 AM Welcome back, Patrick!
greenlynn 01-23-2008, 11:59 AM My name is Lynn. Let me first inform you that, in my case, I am male. I'm a teacher. I heard about the forum by going to the Seattle P.I. website and seeing their discussion about the Sonics. They had a link to here, and, so, here I am. I am involved in Democratic Party politics, union activities as a member of the American Federation of Teachers, Local 2309, and church through Mayflower Congregational Church. My politics lean to the left, but I consider myself to be a pragmatic liberal. In other words, I try not to let ideology blind me to reality. That's about it for now. Oh, I do have a blog called "The Green Flame" at greenlynn.blogspot.com. Thanks for reading this message.
Doug Loudenback 01-23-2008, 12:17 PM Welcome ... and please don't think what you've seen at the Seattle PI and/or Seattle Times Sonic forums is representative of opinion locally ... a lot of "fake" posters there use Okc or environs as their identification, which is false ... a lot, even if not all, of those posts are from Washingtonians and/or New Orleans people just trying to stir up trouble.
This place has got a lot of diversity and I think that you'll like it! Hope so, anyway!

Welcome, Lynn - glad to see another "demookie" on the board!

Karried 01-28-2008, 10:16 PM Welcome to all of our new members! So glad to see you've found us here at OKCTalk... feel free to join in on all the discussions. We'd love to hear from you!
Patrick 01-29-2008, 03:08 PM Several people have contacted me and asked where I've been for the past 6 months. My answer might surprise you, as popular belief has it that I was banned for some reason or another, which really isn't the complete story.
Truth being, I was very involved in the daily operations of this site when Todd owned the site. It was extremely time consuming, and actually was having an effect on my life in general. Towards the end of Todd's reign, it was apparent that I was starting to get really burned out on the whole thing. It was showing in my relation to people here and even among my fellow mods. Todd had actually suggested that I reduce my activity here, and suggested that I take some time away. But, I didn't. When Pete took over the site, he also realized that I was showing signs of burn out, and suggested that it might be best if I take some time off away from the site. I resisted at first, because I was actively involved here and didn't want to leave. But, Pete knew better, and he basically told me I was going to take some time off. Funny, but when you're in the midst of burn out, sometimes you're so blind you can't see it. But, Pete saw it, as did the other moderators. Pete banned my account for a 1 month period, to reduce the temptation to come back and post.
I eventually came to my own conclusion that I didn't want to participate here any longer, and that I wanted to spend more time with my wife and family. So, I eventually asked for my account to be deleted.
But, over the past 6 months, I've received many many emails asking me to come back. I guess the latest email from Hot Rod and Pete eventually encoraged me to re-register. I do want to have a more limited role here than I used to have, and I just want to be a regular member that contributes content here and there.
Anyways, I didn't want to make a big deal out of this. So many people have been asking me so I thought I'd explain myself.
jsenter 01-31-2008, 12:54 PM Long time reader. I decided to post after the aftermath of the firing of the Oklahoma City Public Schools Superintendent. I'm work in administration at the Oklahoma City Public Schools.

Juriswilliams 02-08-2008, 07:09 AM Hi everyone! WOW what a great site you guys have here. I've been in Oklahoma for the past 12 years and in OKC for the past 5. I live in south Edmond and spend my free time enjoying the company of my wife of 10 years, reading, and exploring the city. I was a military brat in my youth and lived in over 16 different locations around the world ranging from Mississippi to California to Guam to Maine and I have to say that OKC is truly the one place I love to call home.
kathy 02-09-2008, 10:15 PM Hi, I have lived in OKC most of my life. I am single. In my freetime I enjoy movies, outdoors, basketball, musicals, and like to try and dance. I am an entrepreneur. Looking forward to meeting new people.

PLANSIT 02-24-2008, 10:18 PM Figured I would put this in here as well.
Hello everyone,
My name is Ryan and I am originally from Colorado Springs. I have lived in Norman for the past three years. I graduated last May with a BS degree in Geography (GIS emphasis) and am currently in the Regional and City Planning program working on my MRCP degree. I work for the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments (ACOG) off of Main in Bricktown. I am planning on moving into the Park Harvey in April and hope to meet young people who share my interest in living and working in an urban environment. I've been lurking here for some time, but I usually do my posting over at Skyscraperpage.com (SSP). Hopefully, I can contribute by either providing insider information or getting pictures of some of downtown's construction. So, thanks for having me.
Ryan

OkcBufxPress 03-14-2008, 06:05 PM Hi All,
I am OkcBufxPress, a misplaced Okie on the North Coast. Grew up just a few blocks from PC HS and graduated from PC, UCO with undergrad degree. All the rest of my education was earned in NY.
My brother, who lives in Phoenix, emailed this url to me as a blast from the past (Memories thread). Wow, the memories from NW OKC!
Hoping to come back in the next few years - post retirement. It is just to crazy and expensive up here and we have a place on Grand Lake that becons. Besides, I miss the sun, the thunderstorms in the evening, short winters and that blasted wind - sounds like a personal ad, doesn't it?
Look forward to communicating with new and old friends!
OkcBufxPress
OkcBufxPress 03-14-2008, 06:10 PM Hey All,
I have lived all over the US and OKC is OK! OKC is better than most, small enough to care, yet big enough to be a blast.
Hello. I'm Richard, from the Eastern edge of MWC.
wellandseptic 03-16-2008, 06:44 PM Hi. My name is Charles and I live in NE Edmond.
My wife and I are both originally from Missouri. We lived in Houston for a while, and then we moved to OKC in 1986 so I could continue my education. We had originally planned to move back to MO as soon as I finished. The combination of friendly people, mild winters, low humidity, and sane cost of living convinced us to stay and make a home here.
This "naturalized Oklahoman" looks forward to learning more about our city on this board.
Jacob_Daddy 03-18-2008, 01:34 PM Hello, my name is Scott. I work for the cable company, formerly employed by OKCPS and previously for Texaco. Oklahoma City is my beloved home besides Fort Worth.
OKCisOK4me 04-13-2008, 03:26 AM What up guys. My name is Braden. I once made a introductory post when I first joined up but it was short and sweet.
I've lived in Oklahoma most of my life...16 years North OKC & Edmond...then moved to North Central Missouri for three years where upon I graduated high school in 1997. After that I came back down to Oklahoma to attend college at Oklahoma State University--GO POKES!! I'll be real here, I partied way too much and was stricken with the syndrome of not graduating...but that's okay, it was a helluva experience.
Shortly thereafter I moved back to the North OKC area where I've lived ever since. I guess that would be since Fall of 1999. I enjoy every minute of my life in OKC and wouldn't trade it for the hustle & bustle of any major city, because I've been to those major cities and I'm a pretty laid back guy.
I work as a sales manager and in my spare time I enjoy reading, internetting (it should be a word), playing a little PS3, and of course, watching Oklahoma State sports (Pickens needs to slow it down).
The aspect that I love the most when it comes to forums like this is reading or adding information regarding any kind of construction. That of skyscrapers--which we vastly need--and road construction are my two favorite. So obviously I'm in dire straights to hear more about Devon Energy's future plans and anything having to do with the re-routing of the I-40 Crosstown!
brahma 04-14-2008, 11:02 AM Hey, Brahma here, new to the site.
I'm an Okie on purpose (I wasn't born here), and have been here more than 20 years. I'm interested in philosophy, civics, OKC development, science, cooking, restaurants, blues, golf, 4-wheelin', dogs, kids, photography, schools, religion, sports, and other stuff (I'm sure) that doesn't come to top of mind right now.
I can take the other side of virtually any debate you'd like to engage in, in an effort to sharpen our collective focus on the topic.

muppetkiller 06-11-2008, 10:35 PM You flopped in Dallas? Sooner or later, everything seems to flop in Dallas. Three months and the hottest restaurant closes. Dallas got old because of it's, "Has to be new and HOT!" theme.
Even good restaurants had to "HOT!" Best to avoid all the "HOT" places.
A_Isaacs 06-26-2008, 12:58 PM Hello! my last name is Isaacs. I work at a well known government facility in south OKC.
This looks like a good place for City info!
TonLoc 07-04-2008, 12:41 AM Hey Everyone.
My name is Tony. I've been back in OKC about 2 years now.
Just ran across the site this evening so though I would check it out.
Cheers,

sheri5 07-08-2008, 01:07 PM My name is Sheri. I grew up in Britton and attended OKC Public Schools all 13-years of my primary school career. I now live in North of OKC about 75-miles, and love being away from down there but in a strange way, I often miss it.
I was "Googling" Aaron Tuttle when I came across this web site and now it is one of my "favorites". I am a people person and love to read what everyone posts on here and I like to keep up with the progress of what "the city" is becoming.
When I was a kid fresh out of high school and working my way through college, I worked at the Howard Johnson's reservation center and would often times talk to people across the US about what OKC had to offer. There were a lot of people who wanted to visit the city because of its rich western heritage and they wanted to visit a docile place and get away from the hustle and bustle of a big city. I appreciate what OKC has become but I hope that people never loose sight of what it was. Oklahoma is a very diverse state, where else can you go from the gorgeous hills of eastern Oklahoma to the desserts of western Oklahoma? We may have rednecks and trailer trash in our state, but if you think about it, we have to have these kind of people in society to make our state grow. They are just as important as the millionaires and billionaires. We just need to accept each other for who we are and not try to move them out.
spraycan 07-09-2008, 07:29 PM Hello from northeast Oklahoma. I like the look of this forum so I thought I would try it out! Sometimes these forums remind me of the graffiti I see on walls around Tulsa. So, I'm going with it!
I am an OU graduate from back in the seventies with three boys, a Silky Terrier and of course a lovely wife. Look forward to some interesting discourse.
Pringles addict 07-13-2008, 05:15 PM Hi there. Found this place while googling something and figured i'd give it a shot. I've been back in the area about a year now. Love all the reviews on here!
