Where is the Container Store located in Tulsa?

Simon hired Oklahoma City attorney David Box to represent the company during the meeting. .
Anyone else as happy about this as I am? Something about a man named Box representing a container store tickles me.

Does anyone have knowledge of the history of this store? I have memory of taking an entrepreneurship (sp?) class at OU. A woman in the class had the project to create the Container Store. She and her Mom opened a store or 3 in the Dallas area before selling out to the group that probably owns it now. Can anyone verify?

I can't verify the history but can tell you definitively that there was a C-store in Dallas in 1988 at Mockingbird Lane and Central Expressway. It was my first year of college at SMU and everybody wanted to get stuff for their dorm rooms there.

I'm mistaken. Nevermind.

Yep, the Container Store was still there on Mockingbird my freshman year at SMU in 1995. We bought stuff there for my dorm room.

I found this history from their site: http://standfor.containerstore.com/page/about-us

Construction fence going up this morning. Looks like the entire parking lot north of UMB will be fenced off. That'll make the peak shopping days and days right after Christmas interesting at Penn Square.

Definitely. That exit is already closed off. As i said, that entire north side parking lot is fenced up. Good luck to you and yours with your Holiday Shopping!

Yes, seems odd they were oblivious to what time of year it is. Parking at PSM is already brutal in Dec., as is getting out of the lot.

I was at The Container Store in Frisco, TX the week of Thanksgiving. It made me a little nervous when the cashier was saying corporate has not confirmed anything to TCS employees about an OKC location, She said people from OKC keep telling them about it, but corporate won't confirm internally. Seems a little odd. Hopefully just the usual corporate politics for whatever reasson.

For some reasons, some companies like to have their employees find out last.

Maybe they don’t want people working at X moving to Y for some strange reason.

Most large companies treat non-executive employees as the general public. With social media and online forums making everyone able to leak information easily, companies have become more cautious with inside info.

Yep. Especially with Costco being a publicly traded company. The decision makers know what's going on and there's no reason to announce things prior to their public announcement.

Storage solutions including, yes, food storage. But also office storage, hobby storage, closet solutions, garage storage solutions, etc.

It’s a third of IKEA, specialized even more.

Its basic organization using multiple types of containers, room organizers and storage furniture. You can get basic tubs and plastic containers several places more cheaply, but it's more than that.

Apparently it's a store that sells boxes. Lots of boxes.

I don't understand it. I throw boxes away. But my girlfriend is very excited. Another thing to spend money on.

Popped in real quick to check out the new store. My only complaint is that the music broadcast throughout the store was way too loud. (Yes, I know the saying ... "If it's too loud, then you're too old.") :rock_on:

Last night I went to CS with the wife and daughter.

I was walking around while the wife was shopping and saw two guys walk in, already bored, but their wives were ecstatic.

I was near them and said, "Hey guys, welcome to hell..." One said thanks, not realizing what I said and the other laughed a lot. I got glares from the wives...
