It sucks that you have to be a cable subscriber to view online content through their app.

Very excited about this because like the last World Cup, the Brazil area is a favorable time zone for live viewing.

Can't wait for it to get started.

Watch the Olympics in 4K Ultra HD on Comcast, DirecTV or Dish: https://www.engadget.com/2016/08/01/how-to-watch-the-olympics-in-4k/

Dish & NBC (Tribune) are currently negotiating a new contract. If you have a flat screen TV, you can pick up coverage an antenna: https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=new+antenna+for+flat+screen+tv

For people who have dropped cable and want to watch all the NBC Universal Olympic channels, Playstation Vue (https://www.playstation.com/en-us/network/vue/?utm_medium=Display&utm_campaign=PlayStation_Vue&utm_source=Connect&utm_term=di-ps-5-89435&utm_content=Icons&emcid=di-ps-5-89435) is available through your Internet connection for $34.99 per month for their sports package and you can get a free trial week to test it out before you purchase. Playstation Vue (https://www.playstation.com/en-us/network/vue/?utm_medium=Display&utm_campaign=PlayStation_Vue&utm_source=Connect&utm_term=di-ps-5-89435&utm_content=Icons&emcid=di-ps-5-89435) has all the NBC Universal Olympic channels including the specialty channels for soccer and basketball. NBC's coverage from channel 4 is only available by an over-the-air antenna, if you don't have cable or Direct TV. (Note: To register a Playstation Vue account, you must sign in and register using a Sony Playstation, a fairly new Roku box or an Amazon Fire TV box .)

Alternatively, Sling TV's Blue Package (https://www.sling.com/watchnow?lp=marquee-contentwall&mkwid=sjSb9hn0Q%7Cpcrid%7C99542967377%7Cpkw%7Cslin g%20tv%7Cpmt%7Ce%7Cpdv%7Cc&cvosrc=ppc.google.sling%20tv&cvo_crid=99542967377&matchtype=e&campaign=D%2BG_COM_General%20Terms_Brand_Alpha&group=sling%20tv&gclid=CjwKEAjwrIa9BRD5_dvqqazMrFESJACdv27GHAtywqev TyH-WTE_xxwjBWiRUxAyOJj9Erel4uj5bBoCnoPw_wcB) includes the NBC Universal stations for only $25 per month or $40 if you also want ESPN's channels. I may have to switch to Sling TV which carries Fox Sports Oklahoma if Playstation Vue hasn't picked up Fox Sports Oklahoma by basketball season. One more thing about Sling TV and Playstation Vue is that they both advertise on the OKCTalk site & you can click on the Google AdChoices link from this site & help out Pete (site owner & administrator) if you subscribe through clicking on their respective AdChoices links on OKCTalk (in the top right corner of each OKCTalk page).

The good thing about both cable cord-cutting services is they are available from month to month without any connection or cancellation fees or any governmental fees or taxes.

Congrats to David Plummer of Moore, Oklahoma. He won his semifinal heat for the 100 meter backstroke and moves on to the finals.

I'll tell you what's bull**** is this taped delayed crap. I understand on the weekdays, but on weekends we want live coverage when stuff happens. NBC hasn't helped themselves with their comments about women not caring about live results but more about the "journey." Super offensive to true sports fan women like my wife.

Super offensive to true sports fan women like my wife.

And really just women in general.

True, but there are some woman who do fit that profile NBC is targeting, you just don't come out and say it.

Is this the first time since 1980 that a wrestler repping OK in some way hasn't made the Olympics?

Actually, this might be the first time since 1924. I was counting an Olympics that the US and other Nations boycotted. That's pretty incredible.
