Yard House has been looking hard at the OKC market.

There are four in Texas: 2 in San Antonio, 1 in Austin and one in Addison.

For those that don't know them, they are a big draw; tons of beers on tap and a huge, slightly elevated menu. Lots of classics but more of a gastropub slant.

This would be a pretty good, national get. Love to see this on the canal in Bricktown.

Not a fan of chain "bar and grill" type places but I actually really like Yard House. I live probably 2 miles away from the one in Addison and it stays packed. They've got some rare beers on tap and very unusual cocktails. Don't quote me on this but I am pretty sure they have a location in the P&L area of Kansas City, so they do urban. It would be a pretty good get in BT.

Did the one in City Centre in Houston close?

The future pet shop at Aloft would make a good space....

If I could put it anywhere -- I'd go with the old ballpark Coache's space or the lower level of the canal as was mentioned. Both those spaces need an established concept to succeed and they could really bring life to Bricktown.

I don't think so, I ate there a few months ago.

Chisholm Creek comes to mind immediately. I think they would thrive there.

I would think so too, if there wasn't already a Republic going in.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. They are similar in concept. I do actively search out Yard House in any city I travel to. They are great because they have good drinks, beer, and they are vegetarian friendly.

Where do you guys see this going in?

There are a couple buildings along Broadway on AA that could accommodate it.

I'm guessing Bricktown is where it will end up if it comes, but just a hunch.

Could work in one of the new hotels. Do they have restaurant space at the Steelyard?

would LOVE to see this open in AA. We really need to capitalize on the urban bones of AA and this would surely help the district complete its mission.

No, but there was one I loved in Santa Monica (no longer in biz) and another of their huge locations in the Palm Springs area.

it's an impressive operation.

The Blevins Paint and Auto Body place would work, at Broadway and 7th. It's available, pretty large, and centrally located.

I was thinking about this last night, the only place I can see this working in urban OKC is Bricktown, frankly none of the other areas (yet) have the foot traffic I think a big national like this is looking for. I could be wrong, just my two cents.

I didn't realize it was available. How long has it been on the market?

Actually, the ones I have been to in California have all been in suburban mall areas.

Not sure, just noticed the sign a couple days ago. It's a good sized building, and maybe one could do an integrated patio with garage doors or something on the south side along 7th. Given that the building is probably in need of work, it may be feasible to add a rooftop patio as well.

BTW, I know Yard House was in serious conversation with Hogan for the Centennial (would like have to shift things around and provide a 2-level space) but not sure where that stands.

I know Hogan has recently been talking to other restaurant groups as well.

Probably because that's where most Californians live :) (in SoCal at least)

It would do very well there. Especially with the patio. Food is good and good value. Good beer choices.

As Pete said, there are two locations in San Antonio.

One downtown on the Riverwalk in Rivercenter. The other some 17 miles northwest at the Shops at La Cantera on the far northwest side.

They could take Redpin and Bolero. Not sure if those two spots are currently connected physically, but they seem like they would be. And both are leaving.

That's the plan. I wonder if Yardhouse would be interested in keeping the bowling alley in place?

No, the bowling alley would go.

Here is the now empty space; Bolero above and Red Pin below.

In the Raw is on the southern end of the upper level space... Anything is possible but they are in the process of re-branding and seem set for the longer haul.

Also, I believe there is a corridor for Centennial residents between Bolero and ITR so those two spaces couldn't be joined (easily) anyway.

The Bolero space is not very big but it may be worth it to Yard House to have a presence on that level to draw in the maximum amount of people.

Also, it would be super cool to have a two-level patio facing the canal, especially since it faces east and has shade in the hottest parts of the day.

You can see how the patio was just a sad and lame afterthought by Red Pin.

Didn't Bolero actually have two spaces? I recall they having a bar space and a dining room space, and they were NOT connected. Thoughts?

That patio should rock. It is out of the hard afternoon sun and is pretty much protected from the wind. Plus, next to water and walkway and away from the exhaust fumes of the street. Might be the best real patio area around. In fact, if you replace those lower windows with roll-up or accordion glass doors and it would be great.

The giant parking lot to the west of the Centennial and north of Uhaul could easily accommodate all of the demand... That patio would be great. Really both patios would be.

Those lots are a mess on weekend nights, traffic gets clogged, etc. And on game/concert nights, paid parking is the rule in Bricktown. Yardhouse would attract more people than Bolero or RedPin ever did, on their best days.

Don't disagree with you. That lot is owned by the same people as Centennial and offer validation on nights where they are charging.

Yes it is. They also just opened up a Margaritaville next to it. A Fogo de Chao is across from it.

Haven't heard any peep about them at all.
