Anyone know what is going into the old Homeland location at Edmond Rd and Santa Fe? Looks like quite a bit of work in going on there on the inside.

I sure hope they do something to spruce up the outside. That place just looks sad. Especially after all the improvements done to the rest of the shopping center.

Maybe a Cash Saver? That seems to be the theme with a lot of those old Homeland locations. I think the old Homeland is Mustang is going to be or has become a Cash Saver, if I recall correctly.

The space is being split and Planet Fitness will be taking a big chunk.

Pete is correct; Planet Fitness is taking at least half. The other half is hush hush and under development.

Looking at the Planning Commision agenda, there is a Good Will store going in to that shopping center.

Great news! I've had such a hard time finding a Goodwill in town...

There is already a Goodwill store nearby on 15th or 164th near Western Ave. I doubt they would locate two in the same vicinity.

They also have a store at 15th and Broadway.

It could also be a donation center. They have those all over the place.

The sad thing is that when Goodwill takes over a Homeland site, they have to renovate and upgrade just to get up to their standards. :)

The proposed Goodwill is at Danforth and Santa Fe. Looks like a new building as part of the Homestead Shopping Center: http://agenda.edmondok.com:8085/agenda_publish.cfm?id=&mt=ALL&get_month=6&get_year=2016&dsp=agm&seq=8066&rev=0&ag=2111&ln=37162&nseq=8067&nrev=0&pseq=8065&prev=0#ReturnTo37162

There's a Goodwill donation store on MacArthur south of Memorial and also one on NW 122nd just east of Rockwell. I wouldn't be surprised if two were built so close to eachother anywhere else.

Assuming this is the same one, an article in the paper the other day had some quotes from unhappy nearby residents. They were worried mattresses and trash would be left out front of the store...

Don't know if it's still there, but at one time there was a donation center at Danforth and Kelly.

I don't get it. Retail space is very, very expensive. How can Goodwill open up a gazillion new drop off sites with limited funds? Seems excessive to have so many sites especially in expensive retail spaces.

I wish they'd remove the goodwill at 15th and put it somewhere with better loading facilities. If you use Fitness 19 on 15th, there are certain parking spots where you WILL get blocked in by the delivery trucks.

Interesting about Planet Fitness. I've never understood why they weren't in Edmond and Moore. They provide a very good product for the cost and the market they target, at least the ones I've been to in other markets. Of course, they aren't for really serious people, but they are great for people starting out or older people trying to get into a little better shape.

It won't benefit me at all, but I think it'll be a good addition to the area.
