So I had never eaten Filipino cuisine until last week when I was in Vegas. Passing through Del City last night and spot two that have opened up across from each other near 29th and Vickie ( 4728 SE 29th Street, OK 73115 ) so I stopped and tried Chibugan (https://www.zomato.com/oklahoma-city/chibugan-del-city)

They were doing a pretty good business when I was there on Tuesday evening and most of the customers appeared to be Filipino because I was hearing a lot of what I'm assuming to be Tagalog being spoken around me.... Always exciting to see a new cuisine hit the area!

Lechon Kawali (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lechon_kawali) is seasoned and deep fried pork belly. So basically deep fried bacon or the big chicharonnes you can get at the Mexican Super Mercado meat counters. Any way you look at it. It's tasty.

lumpia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lumpia)

I've been wanting to hit this place up. It's just a bit outside my normal range.
thanks for the reminder!

Cool, glad to see Filipino here - used to eat at Cebu in Downers Grove (not there any longer, I believe) often, so we'll have to try one of these when we get all the way down there, thanks for posting the info! :)

checked this place out today because of this thread... food was really good and the lunch specials really reasonable. i had barbecued chicken skewers which were pretty decent. it came with soup and lumpia. soup was alright but could have used a bit more flavor... it was basically a light chicken broth with a few vegetables and scallions thrown in. the lumpia were awesome... kind of wish i threw in a few extra bucks to get more of those. will definitely have to hit this place up again. -M
