So has anyone else noticed the cameras on the signal lights on 19th at Telephone Rd and the bridge over I-35? They don't look like they will survive the first storm with high winds though. Are they for traffic or tickets? If they use them for writing tickets for arsehats that block the intersection, I'm all for it!

Often times those "cameras" are not optical, but are sensors for the traffic light (so that unneeded phases during that cycle are skipped).

There are no ticketing cameras in Oklahoma. Any cameras you see are for traffic control and/or news.

Do they still use those sensors that detect the strobe pattern that Emergency vehicles use to get an almost instant green light?

I believe they do. I think most of the sensors you see are for emergency vehicles.

I don't know about Moore, but you can see the strobe running on Okc fire equipment when viewed as they're approaching. The receivers are usually a small box with a visored lense mounted on top of the horizontal support, in between the signals, and don't look like cameras. But there may be other designs that do.

I had an Ambulance that was behind me at a left turn here in Mustang awhile ago that used it. It had just turned red, I saw the flashback of the strobe and almost instant green.

I don't know WHERE you get a strobe like that, but I know WHAT a strobe like that gets you.

A jail cell.
