It's as though he's telling the Big XII; you have this summer to decide on expansion. University of Oklahoma may well be on their way to another conference. David Boren doesn't play. University of Oklahoma may well be on their way to another conference. David Boren doesn't play.Boren is giving the Big 12 an ultimatum. Expansion and a conference television network is the only hope for the Big 12 to survive for long. It's that or OU has to get out. Laramie 03-08-2016, 09:16 AM We should know the direction of the conference because OU President Boren has shown his hand in favor of conference expansion. Should the Big XII decide not to expand--get ready: The Big XII hearts will be troubled; OU could leave the conference with a strong possibility that OSU will follow. Conference options: John E. Hoover: David Boren tired of Big 12's 'little brother' status - Tulsa World: Sports Columnist John E. Hoover (http://www.tulsaworld.com/sportsextra/johnehoover/john-e-hoover-david-boren-tired-of-big-s-little/article_cd7816c7-5571-5ebe-9392-3911e9337f83.html) Just hope that we will see OU-OSU stick together rather than part ways like Texas-Texas A & M. This is more complicated than we think; more like a chest move--can't afford to blink. Doubt if a move will have any immediate repercussions on the OU-Texas game; however, who knows what the long-term consequences could be. jerrywall 03-08-2016, 09:38 AM I'd like OU-OSU to stick together, because I'd hate to lose the annual bedlam games, which I think could potentially be a victim of being in different conferences... otherwise, as an OSU alum and fan (and one who's wife just enrolled to work on her masters - YAY - she's another Cowboy in the house), I could care less. I agree that the Big XII will either expand or die. |
