I work at Hobby Lobby and just about every day I go home via Council. There's a lot of ground moving going on next to the trucking terminal at SW 15th and Council. Then, right next to there, they're moving a lot of ground clearing going on stretching back beyond the tree line. Anyone know what's going on?

Probably more warehouses. I highly doubt it's anything exciting.

If your talking about next to YRC Freight, it's where the company I work for is building our new facility.
Waukesha Pearce Industries or WPI. We are currently at SE 25th and I-35. Should be late 2016 when we complete the move.

It's encouraging to have an energy related business that is continuing with expansion plans.

I always hoped something more would come to South Council, but I doubt that's going to happen. I keep thinking they are going to build more stuff down around hobby lobby, like some fast food or something, or maybe even towards Wheatland. I've felt like Wheatland could have a couple nice strip centers if they renovated the one. Maybe even demolition a couple of the gas stations and rebuild.

Well nothing to get excited about with WPI.
I was laid off from there last month. Do not expect the estimated employees that was provided...
Waukesha Pearce is not doing good and not making good decisions as well.
They have closed several branches and laid off numerous employees company wide.
I'm not trying to speak ill of them by any means but these are the facts.

Waukesha-Pearce just filed a building permit application for a $4 million expansion.

If you look at this aerial then the renderings above, you'll see this latest permit is for the Phase II building to be built on the north side of the property:
