Steve said in his chat today that this project is now on hold.

Especially with that huge dealership property that will soon be vacated in favor of new construction near Edmond, I am more worried than ever that Midtown Renaissance holds tons and tons of key properties (mainly in Midtown) and seems to be going into deep freeze just as the streetcar is set to roll.

^^^^Im no expert but shouldn't one put the pedal to the metal knowing the streetcar is coming? Like the time to freeze was 10 years ago.... Now its time to boogie.

I have always wondered why the elite in this city, have such little faith in the city. It just seems... Well let's just say it makes the common man question thier... Well there isn't a nice way to say it.

lolol...Indeed.

You definitely have to wonder if it's even a question of faith in the city or faith in themselves. It's not like these 10 to 20 families/investment entities/whatever have much in the way of competition.

It is going to take much needed high paying jobs in OKC for companies to locate or "relocate" from out of State for faith to be restored in OKC. If that happens, you will see Midtown grow by leaps and bounds.

Are you saying that the street car is not enough to get these developers to develop? If that is the case the street car is dead in my opinion. The last thing we need is more public funding to raise the value of empty in developable lots.

I have read this like 10 times and still don't know what it means.

Ditto. Midtown is growing and has grown by leaps and bounds.

How about this... Rebar and other foundation materials on site at Memory Lane.

Looks like work will be starting soon after all.

Most excellent! This development will go a long way in connecting midtown to civic center on Walker. Right now this section of walker feels incomplete and out of town.

The main take-away for me is that Midtown Renaissance is not in hold mode, which is important because they own tons of un- and under-developed property in Midtown and that super important site that sits between the Myriad Gardens and Scissortail Park.

Pete there is a construction sign in the residential lot due west of the Memory Lane corner. My belief is that those construction materials are there because that corner lot is to be used as staging area for construction of another modernist SOSA home on the adjacent lot.

I hope I'm wrong though.

Ugh.

I actually have an email into MidtownR to confirm one way or another.

Well hey either way there is a new building coming to mid-town! Think on the bright side. SOSA is gonna be really sweet when it gets 100% inbuilt.

I have stated my strong concerns about the MidtownR group going into deep freeze while controlling tons of important property.

I was hoping this was a sign to the contrary but now that doesn't seem to be the case.

The whole area from like 4th to SA and walker to western is rife with potential. I love the feel over there and there aren't any super blocks!

The Memory Lane site is being used for staging for the 701 N. Hudson condo project.

Dang we're both wrong. No brightside to be had.

Pete. It has been a long time since this one died. Are there any rumors about MR doing anything in this space?

I actually checked into this because I saw some activity on the site, which looked like it might just be dumping fill.

There are no building permits and the design approval they received years ago has expired, so if anything was going to happen, they'd first have to file again for design approval and they have yet to do that.
