View Full Version : Penn Park
megax11 12-22-2015, 11:22 AM So it's been awhile since I've posted here, and the forums are hard for me to navigate, so I thought I'd ask here.
So a bunch of new buildings are being built at 240 Penn Park. Anyone know what they are going to be?
Thanks.

Tundra 12-22-2015, 03:31 PM Looks like a good spot for a Tucker's or five guys..
Plutonic Panda 12-22-2015, 03:48 PM I wish they'd completely tear down the Denny's and Carl's JR. and rebuild them from the ground up and repave the lot in cement.

I was thinking the same thing the other day, or at least put a new roof on Carl's Jr
Plutonic Panda 12-22-2015, 06:13 PM Yeah. It looks horrible.
bombermwc 12-23-2015, 07:53 AM Someone on the other thread mentioned World Market. I don't have any idea if that has any validity, but if it does, I'm going to be very happy.

I eat at that Denny's at least once every few weeks, and honestly the building itself isn't in bad shape. It looks exactly what I would expect a Denny's to look like. The building could probably use a remodel at some point soon, however... and definitely agree, the parking lot is just bad. At the very least they need to get some new blacktop in there.
megax11 12-23-2015, 12:25 PM Aw, man. Was hoping Toys R Us would relocate, seeing as they're near a dead mall, out of sight from the highway.
I wouldn't mind seeing some higher name retail here, that's normally in malls like Hollister or Buckle. Wouldn't mind if a Vintage Stock got put in either.
SoonerDave 12-23-2015, 01:28 PM That Carl's was slated for a rebuild when they finished the location at SW 89th and Penn, but that was approaching two (?) years ago now. Something obviously went south on those plans.
Questor 02-07-2016, 11:43 AM I was in this area this weekend and was surprised at how large this development is. It appears to be a continuation of the strip mall to the east of it. Other than Conn's, does anyone know what might be moving in here?
I have always thought the I-240 corridor was very underdeveloped for what it is. It's good to see more development in the area.
I've been watching for building permits and have not seen any for new stores in this development.
But I'm sure they are coming.

Call Odom, he'll fill you in on what's going on and in....
bombermwc 02-12-2016, 08:18 AM I think we can sadly mark off World Market as an option. You can tell be the way the back concrete wall has multiple doors, that the space is not meant for a single larger tenant, rather more strip center space. Such a bummer that it's just crappy strip mall crap. As if we don't have enough of that.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! I'll never give up hope! NEVER!
World Market is still looking at OKC but you can almost guarantee their first location will be out on Memorial Road somewhere.

Norman would be a good place for one too.
bombermwc 02-15-2016, 08:56 AM Booo on both. I want it on 240 :)
baralheia 08-04-2016, 05:23 PM The Phase II building appears to be complete, and the Conn's build-out is nearly complete as well.
