So am I the only one missing Urbanspoon? Since it was replaced by Zomato, it's been pretty worthless.
View Full Version : Zomato is pretty much worthless! jstaylor62 11-01-2015, 02:27 PM So am I the only one missing Urbanspoon? Since it was replaced by Zomato, it's been pretty worthless. Paseofreak 11-01-2015, 02:30 PM Yelp has been my only salvation. Gotta wonder what they are thinking at Zomato. Don't know anyone that uses it. Zorba 11-01-2015, 09:02 PM Completely agree. Not sure why you buyout a company way better than you, then destroy that company. I used to only use Urbanspoon, now I only use Yelp. Roger S 11-02-2015, 07:21 AM I used Urbanspoon extensively with my blog.. Both for research and for getting my blogs to a wider audience.... Zomato is horrible for both. Thomas Vu 11-02-2015, 08:41 AM I miss urbanspoon. Yelp I've read too many corruption stories to give it any attention. Paseofreak 11-02-2015, 09:01 AM I learned quickly to give ratings only a glance. Reviews from trusted posters carried more weight. Mostly, Urbanspoon provided a nice filter-able list of suggestions. Yelp does fine too. Zomato seems to have haphazardly lost half it's content. Bullbear 11-02-2015, 09:33 AM yah I opened Zomato yesterday again for the first time in a while.. I always loved urbanspoon but Zamato is horrible.. I deleted it from my Ipad. soonermike81 11-02-2015, 01:56 PM Yeah, I just removed the app from my phone as well. Unfortunate, bc I had a decent amount of reviews with Urbanspoon. Now gotta start over with Yelp. Jersey Boss 11-02-2015, 02:18 PM TRIP ADVISOR also reviews eateries. Filthy 11-05-2015, 11:23 AM Interestingly enough, once Urbanspoon went away.....I have been using OKCTalk for reviews. Obviously, the sample size is much much smaller...but for local reviews, I trust everyone here, as much as anything else. kevinpate 11-05-2015, 02:24 PM TRIP ADVISOR also reviews eateries. Aaa-Yup. Like any review site, some are on point and some show a clear bias one direction or another. Som are fun and witty, others are coarse and more than a wee bit shhitty. |
