View Full Version : Best bars to watch the Thunder?
Very excited to be living here now and to follow the Thunder up close.
I'll be going to some games but most will be watched on TV...
What are some of the best places to watch the games? So many places but to really watch and follow while being in a fun environment is what I'm looking for.
Might try Bleu Garten and/or Broadway 10. Slaughter's Hall is another place that jumps out at me.
Any ideas? And anyone want to join me???
Once I land on a place would like some OKCT company.
dankrutka 10-28-2015, 04:52 PM I'd think the Garage in MidTown might be a good spot. Obviously, Republic for the food + sports combo. ;)

Think the Garage is the best too... Tons of tvs and they play the audio. Also not a bad seat. Bleu Garten is nice to be outside, but you have get a good seat close to the tv to watch.
GoThunder 10-28-2015, 05:04 PM Urban Johnnie has a million TVs, and is usually a pretty exciting place to watch.
shawnw 10-28-2015, 05:09 PM Garage, but be advised, it's Trivia Night (I go most Wednesdays), AND there's the World Series.
IanMcDermid 10-28-2015, 07:07 PM Heyoooo. I have 6 screens. 2x70" 1x60" and some 30's and 40's that fill in the gaps.
I keep the music going. 1: commercials suck. 2: we already know what the fsOklahoma guy is saying anyway "oh the thunder are amazing" "oh that's a bad call!" 3: it keeps the bar atmosphere intact and maintains diversity for non-diehards. Makes a great sporting event in a NON-sports bar.
We'll also be adding a big one to the north partio in the next couple weeks.
bchris02 10-28-2015, 08:28 PM You at the pump? Mind if I join?
Thomas Vu 10-28-2015, 11:22 PM I was going to recommend Urban Johnnies and Republic, but this sudden recc from the Pump is awesome
Ended up at the Garage and it was a fun, energetic crowd.
One weird thing... Their feed on Thunder game kept freezing up, often at critical points in the game.
sixkiller 10-29-2015, 08:28 AM Pump is a great place to watch OU games too.

Maybe they're running some weird service like Sling, or chromecasting WatchESPN?

It was on TNT last night... that's weird, I haven't seen that happen before. Personally, audio is make or break it if I'm going to watch a game, especially Thunder.
Yeah. I always watch games with audio. I would honestly avoid a place with no audio. Btw, Skinny Slim's is a great place for Thunder games.

It was on ESPN and FSOK not TNT
shawnw 10-29-2015, 10:18 AM Back when I had cable... I remember a couple times when it was on FSOK and ESPN and the FSOK would cut out so I had to switch over to ESPN. Does't necessarily mean anything.

Yep realized that after I sent that... Was at the game and tried to remember what crew I saw. Regardless, the Garage has cable and doesn't stream the game so I'm curious what the problem was.
Bullbear 10-29-2015, 10:51 AM I like midtown Garage for games.. fun atmosphere lots of people there for the game. I prefer Audio with the game and not just the video myself.
I bet its a cox issue.. Cox has been having a issue with Audio Cutting out.. I have called repeatedly on mine and a tech came out one day when I had called and was investigating the same issue for another customer behind me and needed in my yard to access the pole. he said he is getting lots of calls on it.. Its almost like people are being censored the way it cuts out. and sometimes the video Stutters.. its really working my nerves!

Agree on Slim's, but then again, I think Skinny Slim's is good for just about anything. I like Slaughter's, Garage, UJ as well.
