So I work right around Penn Square, and I noticed about a month ago that they bulldozed the old Coit's on Penn and just south of I-44. They have a foundation set up and everything, and work appears to be going pretty quickly. I'm assuming it will be some sort of restaurant, but does anyone have any idea what it will be?

BTW - I loved Coit's. I used to go to the one on Portland by Will Rogers Park a lot. It really wasn't that great, but I just enjoyed the place. Definitely have and will miss it.

It will be a car wash.

Yep, completely depressing.

Seems to be happening everywhere... The old Western Sizzlin/Mackie McNears that had been in MWC since I was a kid was torn down and a car wash is going up.

The good thing about car washes is they are inexpensive to build and thus easy to scrape if a higher/better use comes along.

I just want Coit's back :(. I can't get a good Root Beer Float at a car wash.

As low-rent as they are, I will say that I would love to see a car wash downtown. Maybe when we tear down First National Center we can put one there.
