Prairie bomb is 13% and a lot of their small batches reach into 14-15% territory. You gotta treat it like wine. 2 pints of DNR equates to a bottle of Cabernet.

You gotta treat it like wine. 2 pints of DNR equates to a bottle of Cabernet. Urbanized 11-02-2015, 08:22 PM Ah...didn't know PB was so high. Yeah, DNR should be served like Chimay. Never in a pint glass. MadMonk 11-02-2015, 08:47 PM Yeah, DNR is definitely a "sipping" beer, not a session beer. Two is my usual limit, with a glass of water in between. Friday, I had one DNR and decided that was all I wanted. Besides, I was curious about a Omission Lager, a gluten-free beer that I'd spotted on the menu and wanted to give it a try (didn't care for it). I had a friend who was drinking with me one night and I had recommended we try one of the imperial stouts at TapWerks that I think were around 14%. Despite my warnings, he slammed four like they were low-point Buds. He didn't last long. ;) BTW, I recommend the COOP Octoberfest too if you like the style. Dang, we need to get a beer club started on the site. :Smiley051 Here's a couple pics from Friday night: 1173011731 julieriggs 11-03-2015, 03:51 PM What curse? Probably the curse of that poorly laid out building. I drive by this location almost daily, and they seem to have made massive changes in the layout. Will be interesting to see inside. Hopefully traffic at this business will increase traffic at the Infernos Pizza next door, also. trousers 11-03-2015, 04:46 PM Prairie bomb is 13% and a lot of their small batches reach into 14-15% territory. A lot of the Prairie brews are super potent. I'm actually a big fan of Anthem. Uptowner 11-04-2015, 12:10 AM So what's the verdict? Does it thrive? I can honestly say nothing about the menu or theme gets me revved up to drive to memorial. Not with such quality offerings like bikinis, twin peaks, hudsons, BJ's, hooters, wait did hooters close? I hear if sports and frozen drinks with tiny beers dunked into them is up your alley they do decent pizza at inferno's. I gues something is better than the revolving door of the cursed space. ljbab728 11-04-2015, 12:24 AM Uptowner, when you mention quality offerings, like Bikinis, Twin Peaks, and Hooters, I have to wonder what your priorities are. LOL Uptowner 11-04-2015, 12:50 AM It was a faint attempt at sarcasm. But the scuttlebutt is: bubba's closed and will rebranded a wing place. Now let's get the patchouli oiled tatted and pierced paseo babes serving them on sustainable bamboo paper wearing their raciest sack cloth 2 piece outfits! That would be hilarious and probably outrageously successful. Free range gluten/hormone free with vegan alternatives. Omg I'm a genius! Didn't notice any, but I think you could wear whatever you feel that others won't be too judgmental about, if that's a huge concern for you. I did see some people dressed up in full KISS makeup and regalia. Then again, it was the night before Halloween. mattjank 11-04-2015, 12:03 PM As for the local beers, Anthem is quickly becoming my favorite. Interesting. I've yet to find a beer of theirs that I would buy again. I haven't had a chance to try their Ogletoberfest since I haven't been anywhere its on tap. Won't buy it in store because I still have unfinished 4 packs of the stout and Arujuna taking up space in the "guest door" of my beer fridge. Different strokes. pickles 11-04-2015, 02:00 PM Really looking forward to coming to this place as soon as hell freezes over. tsou89 11-04-2015, 03:48 PM Dropped by yesterday to check it out. I like what they did with the patio area although it faces west and will be warm during the summer. Very nice beer selection. Didn't eat but what I saw looked good. I'll go back and try the food. I liked it. ctchandler 11-04-2015, 07:42 PM I've been buying the COOP Octoberfest quite a bit lately. Pretty solid. The Anthem Ogletoberfest is pretty good as well. I'm actually a big fan of Anthem. The place had a terrible vibe, they prices were stupid expensive , the layout was weird, our bartender was a buffoon, there were probably 10 people in the whole place......it's Friday afternoon people are having drinks all over town except here. This place reminds me of a Planet Hollywood type of establishment touristy not a local hang out. They should have put in bricktown and tried to capture more hi way business. I give this place six months before it closes down. Urbanized 11-07-2015, 12:55 AM Uh, no thanks on having it in Bricktown. Despite an undeserved reputation, most places there are local; even the places you might think of as themed. The district doesn't need to add a half-baked, poorly-executed chain, which is what your review indicates that is It would have been best along I-40 though. Somewhere with easy highway access, and lots of visibility. It probably would have done well in the strip commercial centers in MWC or MacArthur. Uptowner 11-07-2015, 01:49 PM Outlet shoppes... It just opened and I've heard a number of positive reviews compared to one negative. I don't think that kills it quite yet. 3 beers and some wings and my tab was $39 before the tip, I'm not a cheapskate but that's way too much for most people unless you're on vacation. Oh also they have this stupid plastic little tikes playground shoved over in one corner of the patio, it's just a strange place and that has nothing going for it other than some cool music videos and a nice beer selection albeit an overpriced selection. MadMonk 11-07-2015, 10:29 PM Okay, I went back tonight, and although I like the atmosphere, the food tonight was terribly disappointing for most of our party. On a group of five, four had burgers, and I had an individual-sized pizza. On all four burgers, they were charred on the outside to the point of being nearly inedible, yet they were so pink on the inside that it was grossing everyone out. I know they state on the menu that, unless otherwise requested, the burgers are cooked to medium (pink in the middle), but parts of the burgers looked almost raw. 2/10 However, I had the R&B special pizza and it was very good. 8/10 Overall tonight, I'd give it a 4/10 calitook 11-14-2015, 08:40 AM Overpriced boo but dog friendly patio yay. At least its just on the patio. Urbanized 11-15-2015, 06:48 PM ^^^^^^^ I think it is cool in a neighborhood setting where you might combine taking your dog for a walk with having a beer or grabbing a snack, socializing with neighbors, etc., but loading your dog up in the car to drive to a dog-friendly place seems a little odd. kevinpate 11-15-2015, 06:58 PM I share with our pup when I am at the house. Memorial Road is like a death zone for restaurants. Is it a cost of operations (ie rent) issue? There's plenty of traffic. I actually think part of the reason that location struggles is because of traffic and it being a one way road. That and oversaturation in the area. Colbafone 07-31-2018, 05:28 PM The entire Memorial Road corridor west of Western is just awful. Just absolutely awful. I'm shocked that anything can survive more than a year there. From Western to at least Rockwell needs a total overhaul. bchris02 07-31-2018, 05:43 PM I actually think part of the reason that location struggles is because of traffic and it being a one way road. That and oversaturation in the area. That and the fact that it's heavily oriented towards casual dining chains, a sector that currently isn't doing as well as it used to. I think Chisholm Creek is really going to hurt a lot of the restaurants on Memorial Rd. Chisholm Creek's offerings are more in line with current tastes. jbkrems 07-31-2018, 07:43 PM My wife and I went to Rock and Brews one night. It was really bad; we did not pay and did not finish our meal. I believe this actual building has had a whole history of failed tenants, dating all the way to Don Pablo's, then Buddha Tao, and of course, Dan O'Brien's. kukblue1 07-31-2018, 07:43 PM Too many other good places to eat in OKC that are not "chain" type places.
