Gathered over pan dulce and coffee at Berta's Tacos, business and property owners met this week to talk about the future of SW 29 Street.
For the past three years, a coalition has been trying to gather enough support in the burgeoning Hispanic business corridor to create a business improvement district. The group, now incorporated as a nonprofit — SW 29th Business Improvement Association Inc. — has until July 31 to gather support from at least 51 percent of property owners along a three-mile stretch of SW 29 between May and Shields.
Some of this area could be considered Capitol Hill but much of it is not.
