The 1,100 square foot location will have about 20 seats but focus primarily on grab-and-go meals for the active person who is concerned about what they eat.

The Fit Pig will also offer the option of ordering a full week's of food on-line.

Owner Carly Faulkner previously ran a restaurant in Wisconsin and is excited to bring her passion and experience to Oklahoma City, where more and more people are seeking healthy food options: "The Fit Pig is here to offer a quick and easy solution for people on the go, great tasting, nutrient rich meals that can be enjoyed in minutes. Easy to follow instructions allow you to simply place your meal in the oven or microwave and enjoy. Our chefs source local, seasonal ingredients to ensure the highest quality and taste. You may place a weekly order on TheFitPig.com or stop by the location and choose from our daily selections. "

The restaurant hopes to open in Mid-August and tentative hours will be 8AM to 7PM Monday through Saturday.

are they open?

I'm curious as well. I went to their website to find out but it said it's being redone.

Just stopped by...

First photo is owner Carly behind the serving counter. On the opposite wall is a refrigerated case with grab-and-go meals and advance order pick-ups.

Great concept and devoured the pork lettuce wraps for lunch (saving the beef skewers for later) and they were delicious with a genuinely spicy soy-based sauce.

It's a great place to get a quick bite to eat. I had the Spagetti and Meatballs (Lamb meatballs with spagetti squash), and my co-worker had the zucchini noodle bowl. I enjoyed my meal very much, and will be back often. My co-worker probably will not. Although she did enjoy the noodlw bowl, for her, the price point for the entries are too high. She equated the portion sizes to those that you get in a Lean Cuisine or Healthy Choice meal, but at 4-5 times the price. Yes, she understands that the food here is probably all organic, and made daily, and less sodium than the frozen options, etc. But, for a single mother who is not exactly living paycheck-to-paycheck, but who can't really afford to eat out as often as she'd like, this will not be in her lunch rotation. Maybe I can convince her to go every once in awhile since it's conveniently located around the corner from work.

Prices look like enough for me to consider other options =(

Iceberg lettuce and pork are pretty cheap, how can you justify 10.50 for that?

She has to pay for her storefront...for quality I don't see much wrong with that. Probably not everyday for me but Ill be checking them out soon.

Really liked the place and concept.

Will be returning.

Recommend it

Really glad this is here. If a ten buck lunch is too much for you then I think you might need to rethink some things. You're paying for real food here, and real food costs money.

I'm craving those lettuce wraps.

I'll be back and want to try some of their other things as well.

I like the concept, and my food was delicious, but maybe I'm spoiled. I get lots of opportunities to eat freshly made food, and I go hope and eat real food at lunch most days. Paying a premium price for high quality food is fine by me, using a microwave to heat up food IN the place it was cooked blows my mind! What a turn-off. There's an oven there, why can't they find a way to heat food that way in the store? Microwaving gluten-free, dairy-free, humane pork tacos was a scene from a dystopia.

I saw on their instagram page they have $2 breakfast tacos. Another great option (and super cheap) for when I need to grab something quick before work. I plan on trying them out this week or next.

My wife follows a quasi-paleo diet, and cooks adventurous paleo stuff like some of these offerings all the time. I quite dig it. Zucchini makes a surprisingly tasty pasta alternative. She shot me a link to this place's menu yesterday, so I'm sure we'll be paying them a visit soon.

I do agree that these portion sizes look comically small for the price, but we'll still give them a go.

Somewhat competitive with Nebu.

Also, agree with White Peacock. It's not really the size that bothers me, its the portion size. $10 would give me a snack and I'd end up eating again later.

When Cultivar opens on Broadway they will also have grab-n-go breakfast and burritos.

Pete, they asked me how I heard about them and I gave you props, said it was b/c of the site

I hope it doesn't, but I feel like this place will die like the salad place that tried out Film Row. High hopes early with people trying it out, then slow decline in business.

Carly (owner) is super nice and they are working their tails off.

I think that a healthy, grab and go option is much needed in this area as there are a lot of young, single people living in this area and not a lot of healthy options. I think it will do great here... maybe even better if it was placed in Deep Deuce or Midtown closer to residential.

Yea, perhaps. Seemed like it could have been a good fit for that space below Aloft near OKSEA, then people could get a donut to wash down that healthiness.

Pete, can people choose to advertise here? or would that be a job you don't want to take on?

Actually, I have not advertised this but yes, I have started to sell some ads. What to be careful not to compromise the integrity of the site but I think I can do that and still make back at least some of my investment.

If you know someone how is interested, please let me know.

I think if you focus on local ads instead of the crap we see on every other site it would be okay.

I am still going to keep the Google ads, just add some locals to the sidebar.

Interesting strategy... They have installed this self-service grab-and-go station at the Crossfit 405 gym:
